all dreams start from idealistic ideas ;) if no one dares to step forward and be the first one to push, to go on the unbeaten path - then where will progress emerge from? =:p

Singapore's market is very unique la. haha..

In fact, from what I read from the Lego thread, there are alot of them who are into buying and keeping the boxes sealed to admire... :s11:

Then sell off for profit in future I guess..

Singapore's market is unique in what sense? :s22:

Given in this mentality and environment, even a determined person can break with all the negativity around. Then when someone does it, they go "whoa this guy got magic talent but I don't so I wouldn't dare to do it".

It's like wall street style of buying and selling stocks, but the object here is Lego, there is even a site to monitor the Lego market: http://www.brickpicker.com/

As long as the purists don't go around dissing people collecting clone brands, everything is fine.

That's true though.. Maybe some of us should start building really big builds... Or join effort to build something big enough to capture attention. That's where people will see the market..

To build something big may go against the idea of what Nanoblock is, so be careful about getting hyped up about the everything-must be-big-to-impress idea, because people will question what is the purpose of building big with Nanoblocks when the model can be done easily with Lego.

Think about what pulled you to Nanoblock when there are so many Lego/Megablok/Kre-O sets in a section. What made you changed that decision in that moment? :s22:

Yeah . But detailed in the perspective maybe Tokyo tower 2 size

Stealth me spout some nonsense .
Nano is jap brand so a bit taboo on Chinese subjects
Great Wall , tian tan , tiananmen or even our old sg iconic building will set u apart and into the scene locally

Maybe even get some customs at local tourist spots

Copied from earlier post:

ToyBrickStation

Nanoblock Fan Webshop: Nanoblock Fan Page: Web Shop

Departmental stores, best to see if they have discounts. If you are a OG member, you can always check out Thursday papers to see if there is any 20% discount storewide.

Japanese can create their own cultural and anime creations, but I'm not into that so I'm fine.

I think doing local icons like disappearing buildings is a great idea, seeing it in small scale is like seeing those architectural models. The problem is I have a lot of projects in mind and I want to set up a webshop selling hand-made stuff.

So many ideas, so much uncertainty. :(

SG's market is unique in the sense that it's very small. so either your products fly or your products fail. then again, even if it fails now or flies now - it can all change in the blink of an eye. that's the dynamics of our tiny market.

btw my post was meant to encourage you, not sure if it came out sounding correct.. hahaha.. so here's giving my affirmative to you again! :p

i think we all have too many distractions, too many excuses sometimes. like you i enjoy making stuff. but with a full time job.. there's really hardly enough time to pursue other things. esp with long working hours, and more things to do after work. sigh..

in the meantime every day's just passing like in the blink of an eye..

Thanks for the encouragement. I never knew I was lucky enough to win the Nanoblock Award given the fact I starting making customs not long ago. The intimidating part is when people start asking and talking about "Where is the money" lectures, it gets soul-breaking when no one is helping you.

If Nanoblocks fail here, we won't be around talking about the next frontier. When you start seeing clone brands here, it means the fan base is growing. Since we are space conscious, the small size is a welcoming factor :D

Thanks for the heads up. I had the same question on the page when I first see this link:
“Why do a guide when Nanoblock is like Lego, only smaller?” :s13:

Because it is not Lego doesn't mean using Lego methodology will work in Nanoblocks. :s22:

Hi, has anyone got plans for the Chimpanzee, I can't figure out the body from the pictures I have seen..
JINS Yamato is a great model, I added a few extra bits, Like an extra radio tower in clear round blocks aft of the funnel and a more detailed aircraft lift on the rear deck using a tripod of round grey(s) blocks.

I agree the Enterprise is simplistic when you look at it closely, but a detailed model would be horrendous to do and about double the size it is now. What a great idea, do it Kawada!!!
How about a Sydney Harbour Bridge, USS Missouri, or Burj al Arab Tower?

I have the Chimp. And. I must say it's one of the most complicated (and fun) piece I've made in a long while. The structure is very complex and delicate. And yes. I don't think it's possible to figure out the structure from looking at it..because it's base is made out of an uneven number of bricks.

Being an ardent supporter of Nanoblocks (and respect for the creators)...I've long decided not to release any instructions for kits that are still available in the market...not trying to be mean or "exclusive" here...hope you understand. :)

Update: Couldn't resist. Went to finish up my 2 new kits! took me 30 mins each...
