Different target audience la, people who buy OP phones want the stock feel and speed and also to zhng their phones with root, custom roms, kernels and all that. Buy Xiaomi and Huawei is to use as it is, can't zhng much, although with project treble, things might be looking up but still too early to tell.

Ya quite tempting this MI8 but without dev support and custom roms I'm afraid I'd get bored of it very fast, else I'd buy the P20 pro already cos I love the blue/purple color
