I too had that same thought. The cam is definitely better but the huge bezel is a big turn off. It means the icons in the status bar will be mostly hidden so that means you'll need to pull down the status bar much more often just to see what's there. Other cons are the smaller batt (if u take the Explorer), whether the 3D face unlock is compatible with existing apps and whether the NFC implementation is standard. Custom roms will also be less.
Pros will be much better cam, cheaper price and more secure face unlock

Op6 is better i feel, miui still got long way to go to be as good and minimal as oxygen os. Mi 8 battery is a lil bit bigger than op6 but the battery optimization is definitely better in oneplus phones. Speed is also another consideration.

Camera wise is subjective Personally the software also plays a huge role in photo quality. Look at pixel for example. We have witnessed many times xiaomi putting great sensors on their phones but the miui camera app just destroy the photos. Have to sideload google camera app to get great photos and have to wait many months until someone port it.

Appearance wise, i personally feel the bigger notch and bigger chin is fugly. Op6 chin and notch is smaller. They put 3d infrared sensors just to unlock phone and for 'animoji' which i feel is unnecessary.

Only pros i feel is cheaper.

Definitely op6 is better. But then again, razor's main selling point is on gaming and the awesome screen.

To be honest it is typing speed and accuracy, which depends on factors including :

Software (op6 seems fast and lag free but for some reason typing in some apps is more laggy than others, using SwiftKey.... This used to be a more noticeable problem in the days of Android jelly bean and earlier but I still notice it now)
Processor (usually solved if getting flagship)
Size and shape of phone

So now op6 im still not totally happy. I find even v30+ gives a more consistent typing experience.

As a benchmark for consistency of typing experience, iPhone is the best.

I do agree with u, for some reason theres a small lag whenever i type, with whatever keyboards. Everything is fast except the keyboard. And there is a bug where i cant change the vibration intensity

Yup one thing is noticed is for telegram, typing seems fast and smooth.

But in GAGT app, slows down. Same with Gmail app.

And the additional micro lag messes up my spelling correction which makes my error rate go up.

No issue on Gboard and among all the phones i've used. Typing speed is consistent to me.

No offences but to me i feels it more towards an user usage rather the phone issue.

Factors in:
Size of the phone
Size of the keyboard adjust at
The way you hold your phone
What KB you using

It might be... Haha I don't have scientific way to measure keyboard. Latency or responsiveness...the only thing I feel is the level of pek chek-ness I have due to keyboard typing mistakes.

just also realised the op6 has just as mediocre vibration motor as op5t. when typing with haptic feedback, you will have issues if you want to have a low vibration acceleration, it either vibrates too strongly or not at all.

Either way i tried using swiftkey, managed to change the vibration intensity to lowest but i didnt help much. Better than nothing i guess

Sharing my review.

Basically in a nutshell, it's a very "OnePlus" phone. Its strengths are still the same. Blazing performance, great software experience. But its shortcomings are the same too as its predecessor. Like poorer haptic feedback, loud but tinny speaker in a bad position, no official IP rating. Things that got better over the last generation are things like the display, the cameras, but still not at the same level at higher end flagship devices. Overall it's a nice phone to use too, but nothing ground breaking.

While that doesn't really sound that bad for a budget flagship phone, in local context, it's not really THAT cheap considering the markup that we got. Which is my biggest concern really. It's still a phone I can recommend if you want the fastest performance possible and nice clean software experience without paying Pixel 2XL type of money. But it's no longer that "value for money" flagship device anymore that I can just recommend to just about anyone looking for a good deal and don't mind some compromises.

For example. The cheapest OP6 local set was last weekend with RWM, 780 (less if you use gift cards, cc rebates, etc). But RWM is also selling the Galaxy S9 at $860. For that amount more you get a more well-rounded package with nicer screen, speakers, water resistance, wireless charging. It loses out in other areas, but my point is, the price is really not that far off anymore.

Another example. XZ2 Compact is going for 698 during their Sony days promotion now. Cheaper than the OP6, but still the same SD845 processor. The lesser amount of RAM really didn't feel much different on it, and it still performed almost as well as the OP6. No headphone jack, but you get solid stereo speakers. Smaller screen, but the LCD I think looks better outdoors. Plus, IP68 rated, and in my time with it, better battery life. Camera both are around there I think with the Op6 edging out a bit overall.

So yeah. Still a decent phone, but maybe not the best value for money anymore.

Sony phones are crammed full of bloatware (some from telco too) which you can't disable or remove some of them without doing some ADB tomfoolery. And they send you all sorts of crap notifications trying to act smart but being a huge pain in the a$$. Last thing is Sony phones take forever to get updates. I have a relatively recent Sony phone for slightly more than 6 months and I only got 1.. yes 1 pathetic OS upgrade to Oreo 8.0 (not even 8.1)

Just curious which Sony devices that is though. I've gotten quite a few Sony flagships, and typically they are pretty okay with security patches at least. I find it okay in regards to bloat though, just a few annoying ones like the default keyboard, mostly can be ignored or disabled without use of adb. It's not like OxygenOS where they use more Google system apps, but it's not as bad as other OEMs like Huawei, LG, Samsung, Xiaomi. But yeah, software experience wise OxygenOS is definitely one of the best around, especially with all the customisation options inside.
