Wah now thinking if want buy or buy the orzly instead

Nt cheap either for original one. About 24sgd excluding shipping. Orzly one i about same price but 2 pieces.

Maybe i shall wait for someone whom get from taobao and review it before i buy
With in-display fingerprint sensor, the risk of buying TG is very high. I believe Oneplus won't shoot themselves selling TG which can't work with the sensor :s13:

Any reviews on orzly?

Waiting for the TGs i bought on taobao, shd arrive next week.

Got 16:9 app scaling mode? My op5t has but I read op6 don't have. Wonder if op6t also dun have.

I got a couple of games that can only work in 16:9 mode, that's the only reason why I got op5t and not pixel coz stock Android on 18:9 and bigger phones just screw up many 16:9 games.

can share your feedback once you start using it bro :s22:

so far my thoughts are:
1. i still feel oxygen OS is better then huawei EMUI. i prefer the simpler looks yet providing lots of customizations which EMUI dont allow you to do so which my favourite is the navigation bar gestures

2. app launching or switching of apps feels snappier then my mate 10 pro and the animation transition is smoother

3. battery life so far has been great. morning 7:15am plug out till now 1:15pm, i am left with 82% with 1hr 26mins SOT which if you do some calculation, you will end up with about 7-8 hrs SOT

4. in screen fingerprint reader still need some tuning and fixes. there is a serious bug with it which my wife scan her fingerprint, and the phone still unlocks. so if any of you wants more security, might want to disable it first. its a known bug as someone reported in oneplus forum, guess it will be fixed soon:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/fingerprint-massive-bug-other-people-can-unlock-the-phone.941931/
Yeah compared to mate 10 pro, the brightness is really much lower, but i use auto brightness.

OxygenOS is much smoother and faster than EMUI. The best thing is double tap to wake and lock, sorely missing this on EMUI. Especially raise to wake, this function was only implemented on EMUI not long ago.

I don't have another pair of hands to test the fingerprint bug, but i couldn't unlock with my other fingers.

Android Pie 9.0 doesn't have notification count? Don't really wanna use Nova Launch + TeslaUnread. Any solutions to this? Can't find anything on google for OxygenOS 9.0..

So I have been using the phone for the past 2 days... and here is my personal take on the phone.

Battery life
It has been great. Powered up the phone and saw the battery status at 52%, spent the next 3 hours running setup manually (just my personal habit) and spent about 15mins in PUBG Mobile. End up with 15% after 3hours of none stop usage. Not bad at all.

so the next day i tested further, i started the day 7am with 96%,
* at 11ish, SoT - 1hr 30mins - Batt Lvl 79%.
* at 4pm, SoT - 3hrs - Batt Lvl 57%
* at 10:30pm, SoT - 5hr 22mins - Batt lvl 28%

For a long time, I haven't been able to get thru the whole day without putting my phone to charge. I'm not a heavy user, mostly reading news, texting, taking some pictures, on Spotify and occasional gaming throughout the day, so i think this works pretty well for me.

Oxygen OS
Overall it has been good, coming from Stock Android... it is quite closely matched... everything is smooth, fast and snappy... Hope i can say the same after 1 yr later. i think in the user experience dept... OP has done quite a good job... There are small little tweak they put in such as your bluetooth earphone battery level, alert slider, ability to add newly installed app to home screen (toggle off/on), dark theme (not sure if it is available in Pixel series, if they do... that's great), etc... those are quite helpful. However I do have one complain. Screen estate. Stock Android is able to do 5x5 icon grid, but somehow, Oneplus Launcher is only about do to 5x4, which just waste of space in between the apps. See pics. One thing that I missed is the Google Feed when using Stock Android. Potentially can be overcome by installing 3rd party launchers.

Not sure if it is a bug but i enabled dark theme but when i go into Google Account settings. it becomes White background. I did encountered one app crashing, I think it is more of the app problem than OxygenOS, works when I used it on my Samsung tablet, probably some compatibility issues with Android Pie.

Screen Quality
The screen is sharp, vibrant and nice to look at.

Screen unlock/Face Unlock
As mentioned by others, hardware fingerprint scanner is faster. No question about that. Screen Unlock is somehow working fine so far but there were some misses for me. Not that i need the phone to unlock super fast but as technology matures, I am sure we will get better inscreen fingerprint scanner in the future. Oh, they work fine with the banking apps. I tried for SC/DBS/POSbank. No issues. For now, i'm happy with what OP has done. Face unlock is fast. Lightening fast.

Camera
I will not be comparing with Nexus 6P cos it will be of no competition. I took some shots and they looks sharp and clear. Portrait image is good, the bokeh effect looks good for my standard. I also took some night shots and i think they look decent on screen if you zoom right in, you can see some blurs so I think you need steady hands for night mode. Some lighting looks a little overexposed too. Pictures as below.

So, in short, this is definitely an upgrade for me. I like the user experience of OxygenOS, the whole package put up by OP. I also like the way the phone came with a thin screen protector and a case. It is great. It give me the ability to use the phone of the box immediately, while i decide the next possible screenprotector and case to use. every other manufacturer should do this too. I think price wise, it could have been better for local set, unfortunately it is not the case. Of cos one may argued POCO F1 is cheaper, battery bigger, etc. MIUI is the dealbreaker for me, same for EMUI.

sorry my post got too long.

Nice review. I'm on my first day of use. The auto brightness doesn't work consistently. Under the same lighting the screen brightness will tone down and up suddenly. I'm thinking if it's using the front camera as the sensor, which should be the case.

Battery charging on third party charger and cable seems to charge slower than 5v/2.4a. On mate 10 pro, average 1% charge per minute. I usually don't use dash charge unless necessary. Will test the charging again tonight.

mine charging speed quite ok yesterday night. about same speed as mate 10 pro. it shows 1hr 40mins till full charge from about 20%. using aukey multiport charger with aukey usb A to C cable
