Xbox is a lost case w/o strong first party title/exclusive title, so most gamers will get gaming Pc and PS4/5, nintendo switch for their consoles exclusive.

Agree but that's also because xbox screwed up their launch with the higher price + the digital rights management they wanted to do.

Playstation scored a coup when they came out and said to share games is simple *demonstrate handing over the disc physically* + they undercut xbox by $100 I think.

I guess US is the only market where xbox can realistically compete. The other regions playstation dominate

I've been waiting for the time that I can preorder for months. That's why when Sony called me that they will be open for preorder starting 11AM, I went to Sony Store 9AM. No queue, I had my breakfast until 10AM then decided to queue since there's already one guy there.

Only by 11AM when queue started to build up. But the process was so smooth and quick. Sony staff handed us a small paper to tick which edition we want to buy and if we want to buy another controller.

My receipt contains Nov. 19 collection date, even the staff encircled it. My brother went around 12 noon and his receipt is already December collection date.

I just want to secure my console on launch day because I sold my PS4 2 years ago. So I informed the office I'll work half day Friday, woke up very early expecting a long queue, but actually it was not.

Yeah it all happened to me in a span of 17 mins, initially have stock then suddenly OOS, gotta wait for Dec batch

playstation also undercutted by 100$ this round. was watching a EU game streamer and he mentioned the digital version actually sold out before the disc version there. seems like the playstation will be more popular in the EU again

Just realised Destruction All Stars cost $97.90. That's ridiculous. Same price as AAA titles like Demon's Souls, Spider-Man: MM + Spider-Man Remastered. Look generic, no hype whatsoever around it. Look like a free PS+ game.

Almost $100 for Destruction All Stars, its hard to see anyone justifying that price.

Next gen, for those on a budget, have to wisely pick & choose. Waiting several months/1 year later for price drop seems like the way to go (Unless it's a must-have day one purchase like God of War, Horizon Forbidden West. I'm more than willing to pay full price for these quality GOTY-calibre masterpiece).

I'm glad discs still exist. Though an all-digital future seems inevitable, but definitely not anytime soon. Perhaps several decades away.

Launch game to me doesn’t matter ... I have every generation of PlayStation .. so sooner or later I will buy .. the price will not drop .. so might as well buy it sooner some more with backward compatibility .. I be just as happy playing Ps4 game while waiting for ps5 game release

They replied fulfilment is from Nov 19 onwards. So sounds Iike launch day stick

Guys, can confirm one thing, not sure if I rmbr correctly... So even if we buy disc game, when popping it into the PS first-time, also need to download a huge amount of data into the sdd, right?

This is install size. Meaning files are already copied from disk or install files(if digital only).

After installation, Disk is only needed to check that you actually have the game.

Install size is the same regardless if you have disk or digital only PS5.

A higher storage PS5 is a certainty in the future. But 2TB, no.

Because of the 12 channel interface for the SSD, it's not possible to release a 2TB version.

true. for me, i only play max 1 or 2 games so those are the games that i installed. those i bought digitally, i know it's always going to be there to be downloaded so i only download when i clear the game as and when.
