it’s already 2022 and no game streaming services in Southeast Asia . on a side note, i would like to play PS3 games on the PS5… 🫠

Have to wait for more details on the upgrade pathways in the coming months. At least Asia will get it first before rolling out to the rest of the world. Out of curiosity, I took a look at the current PS Now list and saw what's available on it (assuming we'll get the same list this June) - there are already a couple of games of my interest and it's definitely value for money. I'm particularly interested in what PS1, PS2 & PSP games they will offer as I've missed a couple of the classics back then in my younger days.

Happy that we'll be having these new options to play.

in regards to the new PS+ tiers, i guess the premium tier is still cheaper than the Netflix monthly subscription that i am paying ($17.48).

i guess it's now a matter of seeing what is on the initial list of games when it launched.

Motorstorm (loved Pacific Rift & the desert setting of the first game), Metal Gear Solid 4, Infamous 1 & 2, God of War: Ascension, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV etc.

Its unfortunate PS5 doesn't have native backwards compatibility with PS3 discs. Would love to replay those games.

As for Motorstorm & Infamous, Sony own the IP. Hope to see both series get a reboot/sequel & make a long overdue comeback in PS5 generation.

why 'upgrade' are you talking about?

if you are on PS+ now, you will be just on the basic PS+ Essential...which is exactly the same as ever before in terms of features..it's just a name change.

If you are on PS Now (which Singapore don't have), then you will automatically converted to the highest tier of PS+ Premium.

i'm sure there's way to upgrade to a higher tier subscription if you are already on a current subscription...like netflix.

if i’m not wrong, there’s a speed/connection test for PS Now. they would determine whether your end is acceptable for streaming or not

That's the problem. There's no upgrade path info yet.

If there's no upgrade path this year or next year, I'll stick to ps+ essential till 2024 which when my ps+ expires.

Your list brings back some fond memories - warzone setting in mgs4 with a psyche bar and kneeling down in front of the grave with poignant background music.

I was just trying out FFXIII on my PS3 the other day and also got reminded that kind Sony gave us MGS4 as a ps+ free game. Certainly, it would be great to have the classic PS3 games to play as well but.......sigh. I'm literally looking/reminiscing at the top 100 best ps3 games list now after you said that.

Actually, what's the matter in regards to the update on the upgrade paths?

They will be launching this June and I'm sure they will announce how you can upgrade within these two months. We (Asia) will likely be notified on it first anyways. We have yet to see the PS1, PS2, PSP games list they are offering also.

Let's wait patiently while we (over)indulge ourselves in what's currently available (like Elden Ring), shall we?
