Most games have difficulty running at 4K 60fps, especially visually impressive games prioritizing graphics.
But that doesn't mean PS5/Series X is not capable of 4K 60fps. Both hardware can do it. All depends on the developer's choice & the game they're making.
Some games having difficulty with locked 60fps is expected without optimization/patch. However that doesn't mean no game is capable of 4K 60fps on PS5/Series X hardware.
According to DF, they haven't even test the games I listed: Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Borderlands 3, COD: BO Cold War, Rainbow Six Siege, Observer: System Redux, Dead by Daylight, Destiny 2, Dirt 5, Maneater. These games have been confirmed to run at 4K 60fps by the developers themselves. The people behind creating the games. Comparing a public statement from the developers vs an opinion of a unknown random person on a forum, it's obvious which one holds more weight & is more valid.
At least wait for DF videos in November, before immediately jumping to conclusion that PS5/Series X can't run the above-listed optimized titles at native 4K, locked 60fps.
I did not say no game can run 4k/60 locked, I said most games will struggle to do 4k/60 locked at high settings with RT . The titles DF tested are last gen titles with no RT, if they cant even run at 4k/60 then its safe to assume that next gen AAA titles with high settings and RT are unlikely to be able to do 4k/60 locked.
Optimisation can only do such much whereas hardware limitations are very real, 12 Tflops really isn't much these days. 2080TI is already 14 Tflops but how many modern AAA titles can do 4k/60 at highest settings with max RT? Very few.
1440p/60 with high settings and RT is a more reasonable target for next gen consoles, 4k/60 is just a pipe dream, nothing more than marketing gimmick.
