I see, cool. So my Astro A50 gen 4 should work. Can't wait to test it out.

It depends. I should clarify. The 3D audio feature isn't locked to Playstation headsets. Any headset which you can get sound from the PS5 to the headset will work.

It is unclear at the moment if the PS5 supports bluetooth only headsets. The PS4 has bluetooth, but you cannot use bluetooth headsets with it. The PS4 supported audio via the 3.5mm jack on the dualshock4 controller, or via USB plugged into the PS4 directly. So I would assume both methods would still work on the PS5.

For bluetooth only headsets, we need to wait and see if they can even work with the PS5 at all.

Astro A50 gen 4 doesn't connect over Bluetooth, instead it have a base station which is connected to PlayStation via Usb, so as long Usb connectivity is supported should be fine.

Please tell me Bluetooth native connectivity is supported for the headsets. It’ll be incredibly backward if you can’t use any normal Bluetooth headset with PS5 without any USB dongle etc.

As I noted previously, the side panels can be easily removed.

Those wanting pure black edition just spray paint the panels accordingly. :)

I can see Sony go all out to tackle the heating/noise issues.

This...... I just hope it holds...:(

Wow. Anybody else feels the tear down for the PS5 was done so beautifully? It’s not just dismantling for parts but with a clear idea to showcase the internals.

I’m pretty sure the Xbox one is nowhere near this.

Lol, is that really the internals of the xbx? Looks even worse than a typical PC setup, let alone a custom designed console.

If I view the pic as is with no description, I would say it's a badly assembled Windows PC.

It’s Japanese culture presentation.
Was kinda surprised Sony did it’s own tear down.
Goes to show the confidence level in its new hardware. Regardless of console or phone or tv.

Well done Sony.

Now if only they can concentrate bit more on their games.

Looking at how compact and tightly the internals of series x is packed, would say PS5 will have better airflow in general. Is like comparing a mini ITX case with an standard ATX tower which latter will definitely have more room for air to flow through.

With this would you recommend to place it vertically or horizontally.. I might have to slot it horizontal inside the console table but hopefully airflow is ok too this way.
