this round sony and microsoft are going different directions. in terms of games exclusive, PS would lead in terms of console sales.

for xbox/microsoft, they are more focus on different platforms which is their console and pc. they focus more purely on their xbox pass instead.

depend on how they go forward, they earn profits in a different way. i do hope sony would also push something similar to xbox pass.

Xbox Game Pass has unlimited access to over 100 high-quality games—with titles added all the time. Whether you play console games, PC games, or both, there's a plan for you. Join Xbox Game Pass for one low monthly price and discover your next favorite game.

PS have the PSN plus :)

Game Pass is going to cost Microsoft so much money~

most of their upcoming 1st party games will be coming to Game Pass day and date. i still think it's crazy. so how is Microsoft going to pay their first parties~? using download rate + sales numbers~?

this is going to be a Movie Pass situation, if the membership numbers are low, they will bleed money. of course there will be a big number of people signing up Game Pass. Plus game development is not getting any cheaper~

no lar~ :s13:

the business model is very refreshing i feel~

it either ushers in a "real next generation" era, or it will do nothing at all~

video games are a bit of a outlier i find, people still buying physical copies (for resale later of course) even though digital is widely available~

the rest of the industries have seemingly moved away from physical~

PC games are 99% on digital already. maybe it take another a decade for full digital on consoles ?

psn plus and xbox game pass are quite different.
just that for xbox game pass, they tend to add and remove the games quite fast

i still prefer physical cause like someone below said, i prefer to sell after playing finish.

the industries is ****ing too greedy now due to those stupid higher management, look at ****ing EA

everytime someone resales their games, the publisher receives 0 dollar. they probably thought mobile app's microtransaction can be brought to consoles (to recoup and maybe retain players)

thats why they got booster pack that you can pay to get bonus in their (EA) games.

then again console games traditionally is more expensive than on PC.

maybe going digital will change everything~? maybe not.

gamepass now not earning microsoft any $$$. but i think right now they just want to bring people into their ecosystem. they trying to be the netflix of gaming. probably a wise move as they know they can't compete with sony and nintendo on traditional hardware sales

Could be the next Microsoft Zune. Or Windows Phone.

Venturing into new areas for a company will always carry risks. Microsoft is probably one of the few companies in the world that can afford any failure given their wealth.

maybe you should compare PS Now rather than PSN plus free games monthly.
But then again PS Now sucks lol

yea in terms of online, xbox pass is better than ps now.
just have to note that the risk of xbox pass is u dont own the game forever cause they will remove the game from digital store compare to physical copy

Why would there be delay in the first place? Where does that rumor come from?

Just because XBox may delay due to Halo Infinite delay (its only big budget exclusive) doesn't mean Sony will follow suit.

The PS5 already well into production, plus Covid-19 forcing many to stay home means more people will buy a new console so it makes no sense to delay till next year unless there is production issue.

By next year more countries will restore to norm so opportunity to sell more system/games will be greatly reduced.

perhaps the raw materials, supply chain, factory production etc due to the conoronavirus might had an impact and affect the overall production volume?
