Except that Sony doesn't make any money from the $729 they get from scalpers, they lose money from selling them.
Most consumers would gladly sign up for PS plus or purchase Miles Morales if they are able to get their hands on a PS5 for $729, but paying twice the MSRP for it is going put most people off, most people are just not going to do it. In the end, Sony doesnt get the revenue they'd have gotten if the scalper hadn't existed.
Moot point since there are no Bak kwa scalpers so all the profits accrue to the business, and rightfully so since most of their profits come from CNY period.
I dunno if PS5 or console community are more "nerdy", they could be, but I'm not against scalping because I'm a fanboy or something, I just dun think this is good for the industry.
true too..
but u know that the scalpers do eventually sell their ps5 right? And that means Sony still earn from whatever games or ps plus sub that the buy right haha...
Very simply, from last year nov, u will see so many sellers selling ps5 at high prices...and all who get their ps5 in nov dec all sold.. the current ppl selling in carousel are those for the latest batch. What does this say? People are buying from the scalpers. Sony still earn since there are buyers who actually use the ps5. No loss at all.
