What you guys are both mentioning are the quirks with HDMI. Due to them having to redo a handshake, sometimes the handshake fails and all you will see is a black screen.
I don't put my PS5 to rest mode as the bad experiences with the PS4 games in rest mode has scared me away from ever using it. Games can sometimes be wonky as a result of rest mode. So I will just turn it off instead to avoid handshake issues as well.
It's just the quirks of HDMI due to Copyright Protection all (HDCP). Where if the HDMI Handshake between the source device and the TV fails, you'll be presented with a black screen. Doing something that will force a refresh/reconnection and thus a new HDMI Handshake is being done might help solve the black screen issue.

just take it as noise. In psychology, normally the louder and more u boast abt something means insecurity and probably dun possess it at all. Heads up on drop in this forum had helped me to secure my set and I’m really grateful for that. Let’s keep the spirit of helping everyone in this forum by looking out for ps5 console and accessories.

Eh just to clarify, one unit crashing maybe is a faulty set, but having two units crash, so is it a common issue or what. Need software fix or what etc. I don’t see how this is an opportunity to boast etc.

Anyway, PS5 is not an expensive item and there is clearly nothing to boast about. People at hardware clinic section can pay 3-4K per graphics card, to me PS5 has a much better price performance ratio and the PS5 at retail price is much lower than buying gaming PCs etc.

U can try Sony store (Westgate) and courts (online), think higher chance as I managed to get my sets from them without much waiting.

Don't bother for drop thru online, chance's are almost zero. Head to Sony shop and pre order.

Got mine on launch day, able to pre order at Sony store during pre order day.. pre order were available till late evening at Sony shop that day. Pre order mine around 4-5pm
