I doubt COD titles will be exclusive, they want the sales and player base from playstation.
Do console gamers care about blizzard games? To me, they are more to the PC side...

I think this is more of a $68 billion Game Pass push.

This acquisition no doubt will add pressure to Sony.
COD series is consider one of the top games hoot by gamers.
But Sony can only LLST cos not as cash rich as M$

However won't affect gamers as most gamers usually have PS5 + gaming PC. Best of both world

MS is the richer chad between the 2.

It's the only few trillion networth companies (Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Tesla, etc) in the world.

the net worth of the entire sony corp is not even a quarter of trillion (around 200+ billion).

They can if they want, but the issue is regulators will not approve as basically they will monopolise the console and to a certain extent the whole gaming industry and that is not good for consumers.

Bethesda games don't make money like how CoD is now a cash cow with micro transactions.

It will likely be used to force Sony to accept GamePass on PS as well, ending the console hardware wars when services is push by Microsoft to capture where ever you choose to play.

But I think it's a good move, this will force Sony to be more consumer-friendly to continue their brand loyalty. Microsoft has done really well to capture the consumer-friendly approach this gen.

Sony definitely reject because Playstation is one of its biggest revenue contributors. Won't give up the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Besides, Sony is also in the movie, music and streaming business. They see Playstation as an all-in-one platform to access their full entertainment offerings.

If I remembered correctly, when PS3 was first launched in 2006, local retail price was also ~$1,000. For those who are desperate and can't wait, they just have to treat it as COVID supply crunch tax loh. It's unfortunate due to unexpected COVID disruption.

But at least those willing to pay the price are getting a complete gaming system. That same price can only buy a standalone mid-range PC GPU at the moment .
