Not many releases that I'm interested in the Q1 2025 (except The First Berserker Khazan on my radar), so it's a great time to clear up the backlog. With the catalogue, a little spoiled for choice also at times.

Continuing the overdue (Jan '2023 PS+ free game) A Plague Tale Requiem - intriguing plot, voice acting, environmental puzzles, rat chases, more items to play with so far but crashed like 2-3 times in just a few hours. Hope it gets better later as I've enjoyed the 1st game (back then also PS+ free game).

I’m busy trying to platinum Dragon Quest 2D-HD remake too …. Display is also pixelated …. err so used to 4K smooth graphics like Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster …. and just started Path of Exile II too 🫡

Pixel graphics is another form of their artistic expression, it can be a genre by itself imo. To each his own, I would play old games on my PS1/2/3, such as Vagrant Story, FF VI etc? Haha.

Pixel art games from the 80s and 90s are the best, especially the arcade beatemups and shootemups.

Creative character art & animation designs given hardware and resolution limitations, colour restrictions etc made those games timless and ageless, unlike many modern day 3D games.

I'm a bit biased cause I grew up with those games before the decade long arcade ban from the late 80s. Even during the ban I can still go to the clubs to experience them since arcade machines are still allowed in the clubs.

My first encounter with the original Street Fighter arcade was in the army camp canteen (transport camp) where we went for bike training. Not sure how but I managed to pull off my very first Hadouken move there!

My first encounter with Sega's Outrun arcade was in a fun fair held in the open grass area beside Wisma Atria, which is now occupied by Ngee Ann City.

My PS Plus subscription has lapsed since Nov. Used to be able to buy PSN Gift Card and stack vouchers to cut down costs on Shopee but it seems like there are no longer any shops that lets you use the voucher.

Anyone has recommendation on how to get the subscription at a slightly cheaper rate?

Good luck also if u want to platinum the game need to play through twice as the 2nd set relic and some armour upgrade (e.g. full bull armour) can only be obtained after the 2nd game play.

2nd game (NG+) replay are very easy as u have level up but the bosses level are still 1st play level hit health. But NG+2 will be harder as bosses also level up.

Now got map function which is easier for u to explore.

boss fights are hard and dying alot. have to keep dodging non-stop and running circles. also the game doesn't tell you there is parry. linear game and nothing much to do except killing bosses.

thought it is like god of war but is same as dark souls.
