This is what they reported in their news release:
CMT1Q2013PressRelease.pdf

Bugis Junction
Asset enhancement works for Bugis Junction will commence in the second quarter of 2013. The AEI
will involve the recovery of close to 70,000 sq ft of space from one of Bugis Junction’s anchor tenants.
The recovered space will be occupied by specialty stores. Changes will also be made to the layout of
space on some parts of Basement 1 and Levels 1, 2 and 3. The projected capital expenditure for this
AEI is S$35.0 million with a target return on investment of 9.0%. The AEI is expected to be completed
in the third quarter of 2014.

Thanks for the consolidation addict. Very helpful.

Anyways CMT is up and although not reported in the banks analysis, it has been reported in reitsweek.com that Bugis Junction has just lost an anchor tenant. Advanced info for those who are vested in CapitaMalls Trust.

CMT has declined to comment on who this anchor tenant is. Speculation is still rife as to how badly this is going to affect Bugis junction and ultimately DPU for the rest of the year for CMT unit holders. It could be cold storage or BHG. If it's BHG then it's HUGE tenant.

If you look at the results announcement slides last week, it says the tenant is BHG. BHG will still be there after the AEI but with reduced space. I believe converting anchor tenant space to specialty shops should lead to increased rentals.

The lose of an Anchor tenant may not be a death knell for CMT.

It depends on how much traffic the anchor tenant is bringing into the mall. IMO the lost of BHG is not necessarily a bad thing for Bugis Junction.

Given its superb location, I dun think its an issue to re-lease the space out after the AEI. In any case, Bugis Junction is due for a refresher so I viewed the AEI as positive development.

No worries. Lots of brands lining up to take over the space.

The rental rate will increase too.:D

Not too sure has this been posted b4. Nonetheless a good read especially the table to summarise the dividend yield. This was published early this month so prices wise is a bit outdated so read it as a guide.
