If u buy a stock that shows "CD", take it as the stock Comes with Dividends". If its "XD", take it as it Xcluding Dividends.

If buy a stock when "CD", sell before or after "XD", can still have dividend?

If you buy during CD, and sell after XD, then yes, u still would get ur dividends. However, the drop in price on XD would already taken the dividend price into account (subjectively). If you sell before XD, then nope, the registrar would not have recorded down your name as a dividend payee.

Got a noob question here which i hope you guys can help clarify.

According to their CCT's 1Q results, based on CCT’s closing price per unit of S$1.705 on 18 April 2013, CCT’s distribution yield is 4.7%.

May i know how is the distribution yield of 4.7% calculated? I'm aware that distribution yield is calculated by taking the annualized DPU and divided by the closing price. If CCT's DPU is 1.960, it's annualized DPU would be 1.960 multiply by 2 which gives you 3.92.

How is it that according to REIT data SGX REIT Data - Some Simple Financial Data on SGX REITs + Trusts, the Annualised DPU of CCT = 7.95ct?

Hope you could help me out with the calculation.

Thanks a lot!
