What is your target entry price?

I usually nimble at previous low on a 3mth, 6mth, 1 year, 5 year basis.
In this case, plife
2.28-2.32 then more at 2.2, after that I wait as 2.2 is usually the point where it rebound. Any lower and I might be catching a falling knife.

just to check, because many people talk about NAV, and I am curious how NAV creates an impact on the buyer's decision?

You want to find out the premium you're paying for the stock. If price is near NAV, you might have a bargain. If price is a few times of NAV, the stock might be overvalued.

The reverse may also be true...which makes the stock market both confusing and interesting :)

NAV is Net Asset Value. Like what doody_ mentioned.

IPOs are generally priced above NAV (eg. Keppel DC reit) because of the hype. So in that sense u are overpaying. i am eyeing keppel DC reit too but the price does not appeal to me now. I want to buy in when there's a margin of safety. But this does not happen often :)

Another example is keppel land, the last trading price is below NAV. Does it mean u buy ? Need to find out more and understand why :)

Mr Market is an interesting and peculiar animal. That's why we all have differing views :)

Thanks for the information, it really open my mind on this matter

Yea, Keppel DC reit is a overprice share (but i still bought it - newbie guts). I know that emotion should not be in place when it comes to stock. However, due to the lack of experience in investment, I can only go with my interest and background. As my interest is IT, which is why I bet on it's cloud technology as I can see the cloud technology grows even further (maybe 10 times more).

Yea it's pretty interesting to see which stock is the best bet because you would never know that in a split second the stock which deemed to be good, can turn into a really bad one. Applicable to other way round.

Perhaps to reframe your mind further, you should not limit yourself to your IT background ( i am assuming you are in IT). If you been through the dotcom period and all your eggs are in IT, it could be a rather scary thought :)

Instead, you should learn how to look for value in a company irregardless of its biz. However, this will take time to understand the intricacies of each industry. :)

My understanding now only limited to IT industry and a bit of medical industry as I have picked up some modules before on hospitals and aging trend. I am still learning and I hope to learn new information (as much as possible) in order to broaden my database lol

i believe felix has pointed out only to go with reits that has track record of more than 5 years.
salute your guts and good luck.
by now in both reits thread (cd tracking & discussion), you should be more aware of those reits with bad reputation.
try to read and research more before you make yourself look out of depth with the questions you post.

yes i know this reits is a bit risky, thats why i only buy 5 lots (500 units) to test it out for a year or two to see whether will there be any changes. Sometimes track record with more than 5 years can also suddenly do down without knowing.

quote first.
come back and see what you post if you're still in the market by then.

reits with good parent company (those with good corporate governance) will not let their baby die off so easily.

on 1 hand, warren buffet says to limit yourself to your circle of competencies
on another hand, that would limit a lot of opportunities

Most REITs are surging; FCT has surpassed the $2.00 mark, and Keppel DC REIT, though not CD yet, already hit more than $1.00.

Those who want to go into REITs, best not to buy in as it is overpriced, unless you want to "average up" your existing holdings.

Which is why it is good to have more general knowledge by reading up.

Also, think far ahead and think macro, so as to get a bigger picture.

For me, I do not work in the logistics line, but I realised its importance in the emergence of ecommerce.
