#1 can be important for many people. Same reasons why some people stick to the bigger three (or at most MR/VQ) but not SIMBA/WC. You can argue that people may need more support for Fibre Internet though.

I will say #3 is also a nich use case. And typical mobile phone has the default configuration to prefer Mobile network than WiFi Network, so seldom people will use VoWiFi even under Singtel.
I have an axe to grind with Singtel on billing.
A decade ago I had a billing issue that when I reach out to Singtel they said they will fix it in the next bill.
In the next bill they fix it incorrectly so a further fix is required the next month, and every month I need to call it to request it to be fixed. As the months drag by the issue compounded and takes a long time just to present the issue, often over an hour each month. In all it took some 18 months to get that simple error fixed.

So much for customer support.

VoWifi is also sort of an acquired taste. If you remain connected in cellular mode you probably wont miss it. But if you use it regularly it is hard to go without.

Actually is there any actual benefit of vowifi vs volte?

I totally understand the benefit of volte vs non volte. Haha

VoWifi or wifi calling as it is better known actually functions as Voice over ANY available data network.
This in contrast with VoLTE which works over LTE/4G networks & VoNG/Vo5G which works over 5G SA networks.

There are 2 common ways to use it :

1) Voice call (& SMS) are routed over any Wifi network that allows wifi calling, why and how you want to use it is up to your imagination.
Common use case is for Voice/SMS in areas with good wifi coverage but poor cellular coverage.
Think some army camps, deep basement, remote office/settlements, and ships sailing in the ocean (w starlink).
Or it can be used in lieu of cellular networks, for reasons like saving battery power, reducing cellular radiation, limiting tracking etc. iPhone in particularly has great efficiency in this area, you can stay connected by wifi calling and go without charging for like 10 days in a light usage case.

2) Backup calling. This is when the sim with wifi calling turned on does not connects to a cellular network but instead use the data provided by the other sim for data traffic. This other sim can be either local or roaming sim.
This allow voice call & SMS as long as either sim has a good enough data connection.
It is useful in situation when your own carrier does not cover the area that you need to go to and you can be covered by another sim, including overseas location.

That said, Singtel, M1 & starhub all limits wifi calling from overseas IP address, so it can only be used locally, or with another SG sim roaming providing the data connection (which provides a SG IP address)
Simba don't have this limitation, but their wifi calling only works with Android.

Thanks for the link.
I just successfully recontract my line to the $15 plan.
But a note of caution - singtel messed up my billing. They billed me a penalty charge for early recontract although the sales pple said 1 month in advance - no penalty.
Managed to call billing dept and they reversed it . Not a lot of money but not shiok to be billed extra:)

Thanks for the reports.

Yes sometimes Singtel may mess up the billings and you need to contact them to fix the issue.

I do not use Giro with my Singtel billing but rather choose to use MySingtel app to pay the bill every month using Credit Card. In case got some doubts I will contact Singtel using WhatsApp and usually the help is good for such non-technical issues.

I seldom needed to contact Singtel with technical issues, with the excpetion of activating IPv6 for Singtel 5Gbps Fibre Internet with Singtel ONR. Very few people within Singtel knew about this one and it took me about one month to get it sorted out. Luckily no need technical help on the Singtel SIM Only side.

I just received email that my singtel sim onlcontract is going to expire and have to pay 5G and caller id.

Straight away find this thread to find lobang and recon to $15 and glad to see now the offering is better: 250GB local and 50GB Malaysia which helps me a lot when I cross over to JB for day trip. Hopefully next year Thai and Indo added too!

Really tempted to get those mvno to get the roaming, but those countries maybe only travel twice a year, so I dont mind paying extra separately.

What I need is extra stability and reliable and speed for local as 90% of the time I am are here in Singapore.
Just to update:

My new contract activated but I received extra add-on that I dont need:
1.) Barring incoming overseas SMS
2.) Barring incoming overseas Call
3.) SMS offer with a link to activate Disney+ free 3mth with 12mth contract @$18+/mth

I unsubscribe the first two as I need to receive overseas call/sms as part of my job.

Warning on The third one: Do Not CONFIRM the subscription as it is actually not included as opt out but rather opt in, my wife kena this last time and her bill become so Ex!

Yeah I know that's an issue.

But it's pretty funny prepaid sold in every 7-11 is a significantly better deal than a "loophole" postpaid plan that everyone is trying to hop on.

A big problem is that the data is only for 28 days. After that the data plan is no longer as good as the first 28 days.

M1 Prepaid has similar things.

1) Initial sign-up
https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/prepaid-plans/m-card/sim

$12 (U.P. $25) | 5G

  • 750GB
  • 5GB (Bangladesh, China, India, Thailand)
  • 400 IDD 033 mins (Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand)
  • 5,000 mins Local Outgoing Calls
  • 400 Local SMS
  • Unlimited Incoming Calls
  • Valid for 4 weeks
What’s more, top up $24 to get the same benefit again!

$25 SIM at $12 is valid for a limited time period and is available at M1 Shops and M1 Authorised Retailers.

2) Subsequent top-up, not bad, but not as good as the initial one.

https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/prepaid-plans/m-card/top-up

$14 all-in-one Top-up | 5G

  • 500GB
  • 3GB (Bangladesh, China, India, Thailand)
  • 200 IDD 033 mins (Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand)
  • 500 mins Local Outgoing Calls
  • 50 Local SMS
  • Unlimited Incoming Calls
  • Valid for 4 weeks

So far been using the ST network and don't have issues calling in the office, at home or outside
it's ok normally, but there are some slum offices that are deep inside the cave, some are like very old gahment buildings, where I see my Zym 5G NSA finally drops to 4G LTE

they already provisioned the VAS - McAfee in their systems, so it does not matter if you did or did not click the link. It has been given to you.

Hence, you need tell them to cancel. Or at the point of sign up, just tell them you don't want.

General rule is to always go check in app and unsub, if unable to then contact CSO to unsub.
Don't even leave it so that at least for any deductions, can reason that you have DYDD.
