My Poco X7 Pro will usually display 5G+ icon when connected with SingTel 5G SA. Today I got the first exception: only 5G icon with 5G SA.

I was getting pretty slow speed beside Singtel Jurong Point Shop recently. Therefore today I come to the shop and check again the speed.

Then I check NetMonitor app and phone status, both say 5G SA. But there is no 5G+ icon. Strange. In any case, the icon is probably not a reliable way to check 5G SA or 5G NSA, even on Android phones.

5G SA speed today is good (3:46 pm, not many people), at about 681 Mbps.

Even 4G LTE Advanced (LTE+) speed is pretty good at about 253 Mbps. The phone does show 4G+ icon in this case.

Most people End game is zero1/zym?

Not necessarily from this thread.

1) popular option

SingTel SIM Only Plus recontract offer (not for new sign-up or port-in).
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlyplusform
12-month contract
250GB of 5G+ data
FREE 50GB DataRoam Monthly to Malaysia for next 12 months
1,000 mins
500 SMS
12 FREE months of Caller ID
12 FREE months of 5G+ Access
$15.28/mth

Terms and conditions.
https://www.singtel.com/content/dam/singtel/eshop/Agreements/eform/simonlyplusform_tncs_2025.pdf

2) Singtel MVNOs like Zym/Zero1/VIVIFI/CMLink.

They have very good 50% offers but the offers may end soon.

On the other hand, they will get 5G SA for the 5G enabled plans. So maybe there will be some Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 per month users going to the Singtel MVNOs.

3) Other options like Eight.

If there is no 6 months free, SingTel mvno looks bad than SingTel.

They may have more data and more roaming perks. So it depends on the use cases.

My guess is that the SingTel MVNOs' 50% OFF offer to end soon but they may reduce the price to S$10 to S$12 per month (yet get 5G SA upgrade). Let's see what will happen in year 2026.

Eight 5G may have to reduce the price to the same S$10 to S$12 per month range. Right now it is at S$14.8 per month minimum.

Is Priority Plus ($55/month) (https://www.singtel.com/personal/mobile/plans/sim-only) worth considering?
Talk minutes is important for me.
Do you guys know if the 1000 minutes is for both incoming/outgoing or this plan comes with Free incoming; thus 1000 minutes is just for outgoing calls?

Presently am on Starhub star plan M and had encountered a very peculiar issue with connectivity - with my Airpod Pro 2 (lightning) calling via mobile line; the recipient at times cant hear me well.
Same setup, location, configuration via WhatsApp call, no issue.
Thus am thinking of going over to Singtel.

The issue you mentioned, recipient can't hear you over phone call, does not seem to be the issue with starhub calling. It has to be issue with AirPod. If you don't use airpod, can they hear you? If use WhatsApp call, does the issue still persist?

For the 1000 mins, it's for outgoing calls, incoming is unlimited.

In this case, is 700 minutes good enough from the Enhanced Core plan at S$40 per month (no contract)?

FYI, some users subscribe to the no-contradct Enhanced Core plan for one month, and they will jump to the S$15.28 per month plan (with 12 months contract). It has 1000 minutes talk time.

1000 minutes is usually outgoing. Incoming is usually and "always" free.

What you mentioned most likely could be telco voice call issue.

Eight 5G or Eight 4G? Now got good promotion for Eight 5G.
Yeah purely because of the promo.

Might even do myrepublic free 1 month trial before porting out elsewhere. See if singtels minions announce anything in the next 2 days

Guys, a question for porting out of Singtel sim-only, apologies if it has been answered before. My 12 months contract activation was on 29 December 2024, when would be the earliest date that I would be able to port out successfully? Is it only after 29 December 2025?

I believe that is the case.

Example FAQ from Eight.
https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-port-in
  • What do I need to take note of when porting my number?
Ensure the following information is accurate when porting:
    • The registered ID and name used to port the number to eight is the same as the existing telco.
    • The number is not suspended/terminated at the existing telco
    • Your contract with your telco has expired
    • All digits of your port-in number are entered correctly
    • Please enter the correct service type when signing up, if your number is a postpaid or prepaid number at the current telco.

The $15 plan is it “enhanced” lane? I don’t supposed it “priority” right? But then again, the tnc never even mention enhanced wording..

After all the readings, I think it is not qualified to be in the "Enhanced" tier per se. It is just 5G+, not "5G+ Enhanced" and of course not "5G+ Priority" .

However, I still don't know if there is a real difference between this plan and the "5G+ Enhanced" tier plans, because everything SingTel says about "5G+ Enhanced" seems to be applicable to the S$15.28 per month plan as well. I could be wrong here though.

The "5G+ Priority" tier has very clear documented advantages. But the plan is pretty expensive.
