@xiaofan I finally moved to the enhanced core no-contract plan. do I need to stay on this plan for a month before I can apply for the $15.28/mth plan?

the app says under Renewal options:
"Before contract ends
- No early recontract fees if you upgrade your plan
- Changing to a no contract or lower-priced plan will result in early recontract fees

After contract ends (8 Feb 2026 onwards)
- Recontract without extra fees
"

Also, it's strange that I'm seeing only VoLTE instead of VoNR which I saw when I was on the Starhub Prepaid S and M1 SIM Only. It still says 5G and I confirmed - via developer mode - that both 4G and NR bands are active. But I thought VoLTE means it's 4G only?

1) As per earlier reports, just a few days before the end of one month, you can click the link to recontract to the S$15.28 plan.

Take note this is a hack. The S$15.28 per month recontract offer is a special SIM Only Plus plan.

2) Singtel only supports VoNR on newer iPhones and a few flagship Android phones as of now. Without VoNR, data connection is using 5G but voice call will fall back to 4G (VoLTE).

1) so I should click a few days before 8 Feb, say 4 Feb?

2) so it's a Telco issue? My Android phone is quite new model leh... (H2 2025). sounds like I have to just wait for SingTel to release the patch to support VoNR. surprised that other Telcos have already supported and not the biggest Telco in SG

My Oppo Find X9 Pro already had VoNR (Vo5G), I am on Singtel SIM Only $15.

Mine is Honor Magic V5. No VoNR under SingTel 5G NR.

WhatsApp Support said,
"... While your device is able to connect to our 5G network, the voice service capability displayed (VoLTE vs. VoNR) is determined by the handset manufacturer’s specifications and software support. At present, Singtel provides VoLTE service in line with the device’s certified capabilities.

VoNR support depends on whether the handset vendor has enabled and certified this feature for use on our network. As this is outside of Singtel’s control, we are unable to update or modify the device settings directly.

...

My apologies for the delayed reply. I've checked with the team. At the moment under Singtel we support VoLTE"

🤷‍♂️

The WhatsApp Support response doesn't seem to be in line with what some have shared here (showing the VoNR or Vo5G icon)

Looks like Apple iPhone, Samsung (flagship and now also mid-range) and now Oppo flagship phones, got VoNR support under SingTel 5G network (5G SA).

No VoNR SingTel successful reports from Google Pixels, Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco, Honor and Vivo mobile phone users yet.

Same for A56 getting VoNR. I think recently mid-range models to flagship start to get VoNR

Today just ported over to priority plus plan due to need to get a 2nd line for my wife , chatted with the singtel staff and he told me that the 2nd line will not be getting the Priority plus speed ,it will be the normal 5g+ speed only .not sure is he referring to 5g+ Enhanced speed or the $15 plan speed. . Lol

@xiaofan sorry I should have asked my question about SIM-only plan here.

so based on your reply, no need to unsubscribe Auto-Subscribe to ReadyRoam. However, I worry that if it remains enabled, and I land my flight overseas that doesn't come with a bundled data (e.g. USA), it will automatically subscribe (as the wordings imply) to the local telco (e.g. Verizon) and become chargeable, even if I am not using their data or calling while roaming.

The word 'auto' seems to imply that it will be active on its own.

Yes.

That is still much better than "Pay-Per-Use Roaming " which will cost you really really high charges.

Just disable data romaing on your phone in this case.

1. Roaming FAQ:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/roaming/faqs

What are the charges for roaming?

For Pay-Per-Use Charges or Applicable Data Roaming Plan Subscription, refer to rates here.

To avoid incurring Pay-Per-Use roaming data rates that start from $15/MB, you can subscribe to a roaming plan that suit your needs. Visit My Singtel app to view the range of roaming plans.

2. Pay per use roaming charges: USA -- S$25 per MB, S$25000 per GB

so as long as I don't enable data roaming on the sim card in my phone setting, it will not be "detected" and won't have surprise charges hor?

If you are sure you will not accidently enable data roaming on the phone and prepare to pay high charges in the unlikely case, you can unscribe to the "Auto-Subscription to ReadyRoam" add-on.

I will strongely suggest that you do not do that. But it is your money your decision...

thanks. I won't unsubscribe then. will leave it (default). initially I was worried it'll auto subscribe once it detects the overseas network, but thanks to your sharing of the TnC, it'll only be activated / auto-subscribed if there's roaming data detected.

don't itchy hand toggle the data roaming to be ON in my phone setting can liao.

Also double-check your settings if your phone has the "allow data switching" feature. Not sure if that also works while roaming, but better safe than sorry.

To me it is very simple.

If you are careful and data roaming is sure to be disabled -- both options will incure no charge.

If you accidently enable data roaming, you pay small amount of money if you use the default "Auto-Subscription to ReadyRoam" add-on. but it will be much higher for Pay-per-use.

1GB data in USA -- default "Auto-Subscription to ReadyRoam" at S$40 versus S$25000 if you disable the option.

Works during roaming so better off. Don't ask how I know. :o
