If you need regular data usage and you don't mind the 12 month contract, the S$15.28 SIM Only plan will be much better.

Singtel hi! 5G S$15 plan is a prepaid plan, you need to top up S$15 for every 28 days. It is subjected to three line limitation (up to three lines across all telcos, per NRIC). You also cannot port your existing PostPaid plans to this prepaid plan. The prepaid plan has not got 5G SA yet, just like Singtel MVNOs, only 5G NSA. It does not seem to support VoWiFi either.

The prepaid plan is supported by SingTel Shop Prepaid Counter and the prepaid hotline at 1800-482-2800. It is not supported by 1688 or WhatsApp Singtel channel.

Singtel S$15.28 SIM Only plan is a PostPaid plan and it is a monthly plan. It has got 5G SA for quite some time. It is supported by 1688 and WhatsApp Singtel channel.

In terms of priority, both are not entitled as 5G+ Enhanced, just plain 5G+. But I believe the S$15.28 plan has higher priority.

This plan is with 12 month contract. After 12 months it becomes very expensive (S$30.56+S$5.09+S$5.45=S$41.1 per month). No one really wants to use the plan out of contract after 12 months.

The idea is that you either recontract (near to contract expire date) or port out after contract expires.

Please read the terms and conditions carefully.

So far SingTel don’t have any sim only senior plan for recontracting right?

I seen the $6 sg60 sim only senior plan
Catch is it will increase to $12 after 12 mths?
The T&C said only applicable in 2025, do you know if can still sign up in 2026?

1. Hmm, it does not say that exactly. It only says that the user needs to be at 66 years old and above in year 2025. You can always try if you are qualified.

It does say "*Promotion applicable for first 6,000 Seniors aged 66 and above signing up or porting-in a new line" but I tend to think they may not really limit to 6600 seniors.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/pr...ly-seniors?utm_campaign=1jul-sop-sg60-seniors

The terms and conditions do not say it is only for sign up in 2025, bur rather the following.
https://cdn1.singteldigital.com/con...ments/eform/simonlyplan-seniors_tncs_2025.pdf

The offer is exclusive for new and existing Singtel Mobile customers who are signing up or porting-in a new line. Exclusively for Pioneer and Merdeka generation customers, age 66 and above in year 2025. Only one Senior promotional line sign up per NRIC.

2. But you need to read the terms and conditions properly and you really want to port out after 12 months. The price goes up to S$12 after 12 month and then goes very high after 24 months.

3. More about senior plans here from different providers (Post #5).

True, I always renew 1 mth before the contract ends otherwise it will be costly at $30+ plus the caller id :)

I see. It is just a sloppy website from Singtel. They forgot to update the HTML source. It is not only for seniors and the roaming data to Malaysia has been upgraded to 50 GB since late August 2025.

No worry, as long as you are an existing users of Singtel mobile and your contract are near to expire, then they will usually approve the recontract.

In train from Queenstown heading to Redhill

Actually this type of display may not be accurate.

You may have to change the active SIM Card and then the results may be different. As per the reports, the phone may give the priority to the active SIM card.

It is better to use apps like NetMonitor and then switch the active SIM Card to see the real signal strength comparison.

Dual physical SIM, with Singtel $15.28 in 1st slot for data and Eight $8 in 2nd slot for Calls. Still no good?

(On a different surprising note... Evening on dual eSIM phone in bus, Eight $8 refused to load my web page so I'd to switch to Simba $5 Sr.)

1) Your situation is a bit different as you use a mix. It is better to use the SIM Card for both data and voice to compare the signal strength.

But it is possible that eight has better signal at some spots. However often the user experience is the other way around.

I have tested quite a bit of using SingTel SIM Only S$15.28 plan and eight S$8 plan with EWL, NSL and Circle Line, albeit not during peak hours. I can say SingTel SIM Only plan always performs better than eight 4G based on my testing.

I am not saying that SingTel SIM Only will always have better signal than eight 4G though. In fact, eight 4G performs better in my workplace compared to SingTel (Singtel SIM Only 5G and Singtel hi! 4G) and M1 (Maxx 5G and CL 5G.)

The main problem with eight 4G is not coverage (signal strength is not the main issue, especially above ground), but rather congestion (capacity problem of StarHub 4G network).

2) SIMBA has problems with both coverage (signal strength) and capacity (congestion).

3) To me eight 4G is not a good option to complement SIMBA. You can try out Singtel S$5 hi! Senior plan (4G) as a backup to your main SIMBA line.

Thank you, will look into these points. Will need to find a qualifier to get that Senior plan too. :s13:

Signed up on 01Jan26. It worked.

Great. Thanks for the confirmation.

This SingTel S$6 SG60 5G Senior Plan for seniors (66 years and above) is probably the best senior plan to use for local usage for those who qualify. Just remember to port out after 12 months (it becomes S$12 per month). Even if you are okay with S$12 per month, you still need to port out before 24 month since the price becomes super high after 24 months.

After 12 months, you may consider SingTel S$5 hi! Senior plan but it is 4G only.
