Good point.

On the other hand, StarHub may be more flexible than SingTel. I will suggest those who like this plan to pay a visit to the StarHub Shop and see if it is possible to port-in or not.
Sorry, a bit lost going through these posts lately.

If you're referring to porting to Starhub for this $6 Senior Passion plan, friend went to ask at Nex and they said can.

Where to find the $15 plan? My contract gonna end next month, and I was shocked to see my bill suddenly jumped to $40+. :s22:

Called singtel and they said now only have $22 plan. :o
when u recontract, they will pro-rate n charge according to ur new plan.
i also got bill shock, their billing is stupid with free add-on caller id and 5g access. i thinking to move out next month......

right now, the cheapest $15.....

Indeed it is okay to move out of SingTel S$15.28 per month plan if you want better roaming benefits.

SingTel MVNOs (mainly Zym, Zero1 and VIVIFI) have pretty good S$15 5G plans without contract. Or you can even go with their 4G S$10ish plan with free 5G trials. But you may have to go for M1 Maxx (or others) for one month and then port-in to enjoy the promotions.

Even SingTel hi! S$13/S$15 5G plan is pretty good in terms of roaming benefits.

I have four active 5G plans with me now (Zym and M1 Maxx for testing only).

SingTel S$15.28 plan, main line

Zym S$10.1 4G plan with free 5G trial. In most cases, it performs the same as the SingTel main line and connect to the same cell tower. SpeedTest results are also similar. Only very occasionally I needed to switch to the main SingTel line because Zym seemed to lose data connection in weak signal area, about two times in the past month.

Maxx S$12 5G plan, it can be very fast with 5G SA, fastest among the four lines. But it can be problematic when 5G is not available (M1 4G network coverage is not as good as SingTel and StarHub).

StarHub Prepaid S 5G plan. The 5G coverage is similar to M1 Maxx but the speed is a bit slower sometimes. When 5G is not available, StarHub 4G network has better coverage than M1 4G network. On the other hand, StarHub 4G network may be more congested.

Realistic question. Would you give up your ST $15.28 for ST MVNO (eg ZYM)?

Any noticeable difference between the 2 in your day2day use?

I don’t think the difference is noticeable… unless you have a lot of tools to check bandwidth. Those who have plenty of time and enjoy testing speeds will probably do it 😆

Not any time soon to change my mainline to ST MVNOs. There are no real cost advantage to me.

And as mentioned, there are minor but clear differences.

More detailed comparison of the two.

I have used Zym for about one month already, on the same phone Poco X7 Pro, with my SingTel S$15.28 main line.

In most cases, Zym S$10.1 4G plan with free 5G trial performs the same as the SingTel main line and connect to the same cell tower. SpeedTest results are also similar.

Only very occasionally I needed to switch to the main SingTel line because Zym seemed to lose data connection in weak signal area, about two times in the past month.

Another observation, both will lose signals in some lifts, but then SingTel S$15.28 plan seems to recover faster than the Zym line after I go out of the lift.

Comparison of Zym S$15 5G plan vs S$15.28 per month plan:

1) Main pros of Zym plan: it has no contract and offers better roaming benefits than the SingTel S$15.28 plan.

2) SingTel S$15.28 plan may have better support from SingTel. It may have slight advantage for local usages.

In the end we will most likely keeping the following five lines for me and my wife, as mentioned a few times.

1. Two SingTel S$15.28 lines as main line for me and my wife

2. Two StarHub Prepaid S 5G lines (S$3 per month Happy Prepaid Migration offer) for me and my wife, our old prepaid numbers, now can also used as a backup (80GB data per month).

3. One eight S$8 plan shared between us, as a backup and roaming.

Hypothesis question now, just in case no more SingTel S$15.28 plan for the recontract, where will I go?

As of now, my choice is StarHub 5G Lite plan, Passion Card offer at S$17.60 per month. But then all the lines are using StarHub network, not good for redundancy.

SingTel 5G+ Enhanced Lite plan CIS offer at S$19.25 is another choice.

There are other choices in mind, but for sure not Zym, Zero1 and VIVIFi.

if no more $15.28 plan... I'll probably port out to M1 Maxx for a month and then port to Zym 5G (or maybe back to GOMO but 5G). see which one has better perks for roaming.

probably old generation mindset but just have the bias that Singtel reception is still better / more reliable, which should apply to their MVNOs as well.

Enhanced 5G+ is just a higher priority tier, correct? not that important to me as I'm not a heavy user (around 80 to 100GB of 5G a month).

In terms of 5G+ labeling, kind of higher tier with "5G+ Enhanced Lite" label. But in reality it has less Malaysia roaming and the real user experience may be the same.

1) CIS offer
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/cis

Enhanced Lite 5G+ Enhanced
12mths contract
$19.25/mth
Enhanced Network Lane: 2X Speed
Enhanced Care: Shops, hotline & chat
300GB local data
10GB Malaysia Roaming
400 mins Talktime & 400 SMS
12 months of Caller ID

2) Without CIS offer it is not really worth considering at S$24.50 per month

Potential other choices for main line. Probably not as good as the above choice but they may be okay as well for my use case (living and working in the west, daily commute to work using Public Business, no peak time train ride).
M1 Maxx 5G plan
SingTel hi! 5G plan

Take note I still have StarHub Prepaid S 5G line and eight S$8 4G line (shared with my wife) as the backup.

In any case, the above is just a hypothetical question, I expect myself to be able to recontract with the S$15.28 plan.
