I must admit, the 5G signal is better after I upgraded the Singtel SIM card. I suppose, the new SIM card supoorted 5G+ because my old SIM card do show 5G on my phone but signal is definitely not as good as now in the same places where I encounter signal degradation before using the same Samsung S24 phone. In another words, with the new 5G SIM card, the signal is better than before.

If you only had the old 4G sim card, it only can support 5G NSA Network.

So if u change to the new 5G sim card, it can support 5G SA Network.

I would say the difference is really on the bandwidth during peak hour. Singtel 5G speeds generally is fast. But it throttles pretty much during peak hours on MRT. With 5G+ Priority or enhanced, you get some Priority.

Its like everyone driving Ferrari, but PIE jammed, cars cannot move. Then with priority or enhanced, they open bus lane for you to drive.

• For postpaid 5G SIM cards issued from 25 January 2024 onwards, check if your SIM card has an 18-digit ICCID and barcode starting with “896501” printed on it. This indicates it is a 5G SIM card.
• If you are unsure, you can visit any Singtel shop or self-serve kiosk to confirm and upgrade your SIM card if necessary.

Best to head to Singtel and check, if required they will change for you.
Otherwise, just bomb sometimes drop signal and should be able to get a free change of SIM card if you want to ensure it's the latest 5G supported SIM and have peace of mind.

The small price delta between singtel and its competitors are not worth struggling for if you're middle class, unless you are forever under a wifi umbrella.

Yes, Singtel has a better network at a slightly higher price compared to S-and-S. Since I'm not living from hand-to-mouth, I'll personally stick with Singtel for the long term. You might have other consideration.
