My take is that, if a telco can't even provide decent connection when needed, I won't go paying nearly 4 times more for their "enhanced" network.

My $15 connection is less than ideal, though 60-day FOC 5G Priority is almost as good as Maxx 5G SA.

Why would I want to pay $55 for that? Just for the "brand"?

Exactly.

Back when I was using only ST and M1, the year's contract stuck out like a sore thumb. With M1 I could call in anytime whenever I came across a better offer, and they'd just let me switch over. Changed to Maxx mainly to save $ coz it's my secondary number, but a nice one that i spotted at an M1 Shop and again, only had to call in to change number FOC.

Main line got switched to Simba after connection sucked and finally, also to save cost.

Thankfully M1 works for me since Day 1, and Simba smoothened over the recent year or so. And strangely, ST started acting up over the past couple of years.
