Singtel (GOMO) 1 bar, unusable at all, no receive whatsapp
SIMBA 2 bar 5G, usable can even post IG story

I think cause all foreigner using main 3 telco that doesnt include SIMBA, while few SG ppl using SIMBA so not as congested and affected

i remember last year when i was at NDP preview at padang with over 27,000+ people in attendance, simba mentioned on facebook that they have boosted the bandwidth in crowded areas.

True enough, while i was at padang, i looked around, i see lots of simba repeaters. I have 2 lines then, m1 and simba. Only Simba is able to stream my F1 Live broadcast and upload IG Stories. M1 totally unable to use.

Same goes for concert areas, simba always boosted it for free. During Coldplay concert, i was outside the stadium with lots of crowd, it's super usable.

Only singtel provide this add-on to earn extra $5 per line. Simba no need, it's free. Super bandwidth during super events

Was seated at Swift's cat 2 seats and Singtel 5G SA was loading slow too

I was on floor section VIP 1 between diamond and main stage. Both Giga and GOMO can't even send out WhatsApp text message. Before that I was hovering around the stadium bowl section 400s corridor looking for my friend and there I was totally stranded without usable signal. I end up stop looking and waited at the entrance to floor section until my friend turns up.

I was in the standing pen. 4G one bar. Nothing was working

I was there in middle front of standing pen too. Was there early to chope good standing spot too but can't do anything at all other than enduring to standing/squatting/lying down there like from 6pm to 8pm until he opened his concert.

All these intermissions led me thinking that I want a better line for myself. MVNOs are cheap but just no longer good enough for me...

That's nice of them. But I prefer having both great network experience for day-to-day and peak crowd usage.

It does not makes sense for me to get yet another SIMBA line for 1 mth that is also going to cost me more than $5 for such great initiative.

MVNOs are cheap but just no longer good enough for me...

I wasnt even on MVNO at the concert. I was using Singtel 4G.

Now i switch to simba full time its okay. I dont have any tasks which simba cannot do. Yes slow compared to others but it works.

was on gomo 5g and data already can't really load the moment I come out of Stadium MRT.

Went in and tried again at the gate entrance floor, but again super slow to load so I just gave up and vibe to Taylor for the rest of the night..

Show was solid so no need the phone. Good grief.

Yeah GOMO 4G on secondary line. I won't even consider those QCI values tested during normal peacetime utilisation since telcos are all implementing traffic shaping and QoS that they may change QCI values etc where those tests don't show the entire experience during high peak utility. Since QCI values are the same, how do you justify the difference in experience I got from Singtel (or that of SIMBA from jurong's experience) versus all others?

At the end of the day, I am willing to spend that extra $5 since I had already experienced the pain and downsides of cheaper lines; out of curiosity how the data priority addon will turns out for myself; and I could hardly can find any reviews from other Singtel users on it. So here I am, paying that $5 and testing out, narrating my personal experience and review to all of you so you don't have to.

Moreover its just $5. Not like they charging an exorbitant $15 or 20 for it. It is a luxury I can afford. Plus I have already earned back that $5 from my recent Lazada purchases haha.

Will I ever purchase this addon for next major event? It won't be a hard no. I will still assess the anticipated crowd before plunging in. Perhaps I may consider switching my current secondary Giga 5G line to SIMBA and make my own comparison again?

It's really more of needing it before concert starts (between 3-6pm that day) rather than during concert. I also don't surf my phone at all during concert la haha. Its like the extra premium paid for buying food and drinks inside stadium where we could just buy and consume them outside before entering stadium.

on simba i didnt have issue when 2 concurrent concerts happened... both on 4G and 5G

me, i ported from myrepublic 5g to the Singtel esim free 1 month plan , and then changed to 20.37/mths plan subsequently.

I personally got the number 4. I was lucky enough to sign up their ndp esim offer. After 1 months free subscription, I switch to number 4. I skipped the need to sign up their 12 months contract plan and pay $30+/months

sharing my experience..... recent recontract.... spend 2 x 90 mins doing recontract.

Every time, they like to bundle the additional free trial ... which i don't need.
then ask to buy phone, fiber plan, tv plan.... zzz
In the end, add 1 5g activation cost... sometimes they will waive, sometimes they suka suka add in.

i gave up on singtel liao.
