mine is a bit different...

hmm, maybe there should be additional discount of $5.09 which was not reflected in the contract? you want to check with the Singtel CSO via whatsapp?

Also, I used 3rd party image website, imgbb, so no black border.

hi @xiaofan and all, I received the contract agreement liao, but a bit puzzled by the breakdown of the subscriptions.

by the way, on the agreement it is named as "SIM Only Plus 30". is that the same one y'all have for the $15.28/mth plan?

apparently the CSO said the base plan is $30.56 and every month there's a discount of $10.19. the other items are charged but also fully discounted:
- callerID $5.45
- one-time caller ID registration fee $10.90
- 5G Access-Added $5.09 (it seems like this plan is simply a 4G plan with 5G add-on... rather than a pure 5G plan)
... so the above are waived and I don't need to pay for these

however, there's a $4.99 charge per month for McAfee Mobile Security which is not discounted.

How do the above end up to be $15.28?
$30.56 - $10.19 = $20.37
even if I minus the $4.99 for McAfee, it would be $20.37 - $4.99 = $15.38 🤷‍♂️

did y'all get any 'bill shock' when you received the first bill for this plan?

by the way the activation date is 11 Feb...
Can you get back to the exact link where you submitted the plan renewal? Now I'm getting flashbacks as to what could have happened...

( BTW, McAfee can be terminated from the app. I did and get confirmation for that. Just tracked back from my SMSes.)

IIRC there were 2 different links for this SIM only plan, one for new registration and the $15.28 for renewal only. If you're 100% sure you submitted the latter, whatsapp and tell them that $20+ isn't what you registered for, get them to send you the correct contract. Don't sit on this if it's a contract you didn't consent to, otherwise you'll be tied up for 12 months.

it's this one lor... I'm not aware of another URL for new registration - what is it? maybe I can click to look and see if it's the same interface.

I just got off the Whatsapp chat - the CSO says the discount is wrong, and she'll correct it with the sales team (because the order is still pending processing).

:o luckily I check with you guys here..

Ok, so they realized that they've given you a wrong contract. Not their first. Happened to a friend and thus I said always check their bills AND contracts.

They may be the biggest but again, aren't exactly the brightest.

All in all, just remember to recontract before the expire date of the S$15.28 per month plan. You can do that about one month before the expiration date. You can of course move out as well if you feel it is not worth the money after 12 month contract.

You do not need to wait for the SMS/email/postal recontract offer.

This is what I mentioned in the above thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...low-cost-sim-only-plans-in-singapore.7167328/

Latest Singtel SIM Only Recontract offers:
Not for new customers including port-ins.

You only need to fill in the form, no need to call in 1688 or WhatsApp Singtel.

You only need to select Option 1 which is the best offer now. The others are just for backup in case Singtel rejects your order (unlikely if you belong to Type A or Type B below).

A) For Singtel SIM Only Plan users with 12 months contract, usually you can recontract with the S$15.28 per month plan link at the 10th month or 11th month.

B) For Singtel Mobile plans with 24 months contract, you may have to try the recontract only towards the end of the contract, say two weeks before.

C) For Singtel SIM Only Plan users without contract, you can try the S$15.28 per month link after finishing one month or two months. YMMV even though there are some successful stories.

1. Best offer for non senior citizen
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlyplusform
12-month contract
250GB of 5G+ data
FREE 6GB DataRoam Monthly to Malaysia for next 12 months (worth $192) --> Upgraded to 50GB as on 30-August-2025
1,000 mins
500 SMS
12 FREE months of Caller ID
12 FREE months of 5G+ Access
$15.28/mth

Note: after 12 month contract, the plan becomes very expensive (S$30.56+S$5.09+S$5.45=S$41.1 per month). No one really wants to use the plan out of contract after 12 months. Remember to recontract before contract expire data, you can also port out after contract expires.

Managed to chat with Singtel via Whatsapp. The CSO mentioned my father's first bill will be issued on 19 Mar 2026, so dont need to make payment for now.

Also, regarding the 5G network for this $6 Senior plan, it appears this plan has the lowest 5G priority as compared to those 2X and 4X plans, so take note.

Singtel-5-G-plan.jpg
IMHO.
You should look at it as normal 5G+ and not lowest priority.

IYHO, is there a difference between a normal 5G plan vs. a 4G plan with 5G add-in? I kinda 'suspect' the $15.28 plan is actually a 4G plan with 5G add-on based on how the breakdown is like...

IMHO.
I think of
4G as 4G
5G as 5G NSA
5G+ as 5G SA

To me the plan is just the way they do their accounting.
E.g. I have a Singtel 4G plan and I can add on 5G+ Priority - means I will be on 5G SA.
E.g. If i subscribe to their 5G plan with unlimited data, the unlimited data seems to be an add-on of Data X

The concern now would be for 5G+, you have the general 5G SA where everyone is on but you can add $ to have enhanced (2x) or priority (4x)

if u have finished 11 mths on the $15+ plan without error, then the last bill shouldn't have any problems as well.

singtel bills in advance, and will pro-rate the new plan pricing into the last statement.

just make sure to recontract a new plan before expiry, and terminate all unnecessary rubbish security add-ons, singtel will credit back the adjustments into your next statement.

SingTel S$15.28 per month SIM Only plan can be considered as the 5G+ SIM Only Plus 30 plan with better benefits.

Reference: you can actually pay to try out 5G+ Priority if you want. 48 hours pass is at S$5. Monthly pass is at S$19.90 (no contract).

is it just isolated to just sheng siong marsling? I don't think it's good move to port out just because you don't get good reception at Sheng Siong. How many percent of your time, you spent at Sheng Siong?

You could get a second SIM, either Maxx or Simba to complement your singtel usage. It's also good to have redundancy.

So far this is the 1st time I got zero signal at sheng siong marsiling. .honestly I only spend 5 mins there cox need to load my cdc voucher for them to scan but no signal. 😑
Lucky I have a spare starhub sim to use and load .lol . But I was really surprised singtel no signal as I expected more from sg most powerful coverage network. Lol

ok la. at least you got a spare SH SIM. Singtel generally works better, maybe this is an isolated incident. Perhaps they are upgrading the equipment there.

I mentioned it (again) just the other day... Singtel and Sheng Siong no friend friend.

First noticed when my Spotify stopped playing and I thought I'd to replace my Apple Airpods Pro, until I tried again when I got home. Same on subsequent visit. Actually before that already a friend who's also using Singtel line was with me when he couldn't make a call home. We both thought SS deliberately limited mobile connectivity somewhat. ( Later also realized it couldn't be as their staff have handheld devices to check nationwide stock availability.)

When I switched to Simba, I'd my Spotify playing but forgot all about it until I wanted to check my shopping list and see there's signal deep in SS. And yes, my music was still playing.

Then I switched my old Singtel line to a spare phone. Lo and behold, wanted to use that phone in another SS and sama sama no reception.

Latest which I share recently, I used a new Singtel line at the initial SS and yup, no line. This time I'd backup and switched to my Maxx line.

$15.28 line not too bad these days, TBH. Just that these 2 like no friend friend...

Maybe Singtel and Sheng Siong don't want you to compare prices and want you to focus on shopping, do not listen to music.

Anyway, Singtel has lots of legacy network equipment, 4G alot of them. Some of them are ageing and they did not upgrade them. Why Simba works is because their network equipment are all new and recently set up before covid. No 3G equipment, and all equipment start with 4G.
