Singtel Priority L Plan 5G SA

EWL inside tunnel Raffles Place - City Hall
9.19am, packed train

Very poor speeds despite being on priority, good for basic communication only. Those on ST MVNO likely will have next to no bandwidth.

When your train is around Raffles Place - City Hall, put it away to enjoy your surroundings. It's normal.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

I am on the Singtel recontract SGD15 plan for 3 lines and roaming in South Korea using Readyroam Asia 6GB add-on.

All 3 lines are connected to SKTelecom. 2 lines are on 5G and 1 line is stuck with 4G despite restarting phone and on/off airplane mode.

All 3 lines has no issue connecting to 5G in Singapore

How to get 5G?

Thanks

Anyone itching to port out of Singtel $15 plan to Eight?

Just go ahead and let us know your experiences. And you may want to try eight 5G and not eight 4G since eight 4G is still quite congested.

The other way is to try a new eight 5G line first for one month to see how it goes before porting out, especially if the S$15.28 plan is your only line.

I have StarHub Prepaid S 5G and it is not bad for local usage. Same for Maxx 5G when I tested it twice. Not that sure about eight 5G as I have only used eight 4G.

BTW, based on my two month plus of testing with Zym 5G (Zym S$10.1 4G plan with 180 days free 5G), it is pretty decent, only slightly worse than my S$15.28 main line in a few occasions (on the same Poco X7 Pro phone).

I am not changing as I do not really need the roaming benefits of Zym S$15 5G plan. So to me there are no real cost benefits to switch to Singtel MVNOs' 5G plan at around S$15.

As mentioned earlier, based on my own testing and my own use case (live and work in the west, daily commute using Bus service, no peak time MRT ride), for local usage, overall:

Singtel S$15.28 plan
> Zym 5G
> Starhub Prepaid S 5G , Maxx 5G and CL 5G
> Singtel hi! 4G
>> eight 4G (Still keeping for roaming) or CUniq 4G (barely usable but not good due to congestions)
> SIMBA (just not usable for local usage)

I'd rather pay $15.28 than $15 to any of its network's MVNOs to use 5G.

Just to share - managed to contract under the 15.28/month plan. Cannot recontract to that when I was on enhanced lite 24.50/month. Managed to changed to enhanced core $40/month and tried to use the link 2-3 days after I changed to enhanced core. But got ignored by SingTel. So they were quite particular about the 1 month period.

1 month contracted last day was 25 May. Recontracted on 26 May midnight. Today 27 May around 330pm, received service contract. Will commence from 30 May 26.

hopefully this info will help whoever that wants to change over to the 15.28/month plan. Thanks @Habrosus and @xiaofan for sharing earlier too!

@xiaofan can you remember how many months before can one try to re-contract to the Singtel $15.28/mo plan? Assuming currently is still on the said plan
