As above and recently getting worse, I received no network msgs popping up on and off.
I agree! on the NSL, once you leave bishan MRT and into the undergound, you basically cannot do anything on your phone. Don't talk about loading webpages. WhatsApp messages can only send/receive when the MRT doors open or when the train stops. I don't face this issue on the other MRT lines such as DTL or CCL.

Singtel 5G used to be fast even underground, but sometime last year, I think they throttled the 5G speed before launching their lame ass Priority and Enhanced Plans. slower than 4G.

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/singtel-posts-21-rise-first-quarter-profit-2026-08-12/

Aug 13 (Reuters) - Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) (STEL.SI), opens new tab ‌reported a better-than-expected quarterly underlying net profit on Thursday, fuelled by strong contributions from Optus, regional associates and its digital and data centre businesses.

Singtel, Southeast Asia's largest telecom operator, reported underlying net profit of S$831 million ($649.22 million) for the quarter ended June 30, higher than a Visible Alpha consensus estimate of S$746.1 million and S$686 million a year earlier.

Post-tax contributions from regional associates rose 16.1% to S$543 million, primarily driven by higher contributions from India's Bharti Airtel (BRTI.NS), opens new tab and Thailand's Advanced Info Service (AIS) (ADVANC.BK), opens new tab.

Optus, its Australia-based subsidiary, delivered operating earnings of A$152 million ($107.14 million), a 14% ‌jump from year-ago levels.

NCS, which offers AI, cloud, cybersecurity and other services to enterprises, reported a 29% increase in operating earnings to S$102 million. Digital InfraCo, which provides data centre services, posted a 10% jump in earnings.

That helped offset a 3.1% decline in operating revenue at Singtel Singapore, pressured by intense price competition and lower mobile average revenue per user.

Shares of Singtel were down 0.7% around noon in Singapore, compared with a 0.5% decline in the FTSE Straits Times benchmark index (.STI), opens new tab.

That helped offset a 3.1% decline in operating revenue at Singtel Singapore, pressured by intense price competition and lower mobile average revenue per user.

This is in line with what the Starhub CEO is saying.

https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/co...consolidation-h1-profit-jumps-one-ensign-gain

[SINGAPORE] StarHub expects smaller mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) to be consolidated by larger telcos, said Nikhil Eapen, CEO of the telecommunications company on Thursday (Aug 13).

“There’s a natural progression in which MVNOs will sort of gravitate and then be absorbed and adopted by the large, well-capitalised players,” he noted. “I should expect that to continue.”
...

His comments come at a time when Singapore telco operators are facing shrinking margins, amid intense competition in the consumer space.

“I think the completion of this journey has perhaps got added impetus from the very poor state of the sector,” he said.

“When you have a sector that is poor, it favours those larger players who have strong capital and balance sheets and lasting power.”

StarHub’s blended average revenue per user (ARPU) for the period ended Jun 30 stood at S$20, down from S$21 the year before.

Singapore’s mobile ARPU has fallen by between 36 and 41 per cent since 2017, noted a Maybank Research report in 2025, amid rising price competition.

sagu submit this promotion is only for targeted Singtel customers and the link would be of no value to existing Singtel customers who do not receive this SMS link 😛

sagu already tried with 2 close contacts and both were rejected this morning, so sagu would not want to waste anyone’s precious time here with useless link 😇

#saguwisdom :vijayadmin:
can concur for this, tried using another person’s link for my parents but was rejected multiple time until they received their own recontract links

What's 15.28 plan?

SingTel S$15.28 SIM Only plan, a special recontract offer for existing Singtel mobile customers, not for new sign-up, not for Port-in, with 12 months contract and 50GB Malaysia roaming data.

If you do not have much roaming usage, IMHO it is a very good value 5G SIM Only plan for local usage, based on my own testing. YMMV.
