Singtel blocks incoming udp port 53 which breaks my VPN.

Neither M1 or tpg does that. Also not complete ipv6 unlike both tpg and M1.

Reception and speed feels about the same but latency is better on M1.

Can't say about starhub as I have not use them.

Porting in.
Just received GOMO sim 02-Apr 11am. ( earliest selectable date )
130pm. Slot SIM into phone.
" SIM not provision ".....

(heard it should have a tempr num.... but nope)

I just received my SIM card today. VERY disappointed.

Put the SIM card in my phone.. no signal. I'm porting over from Singtel.

According to the FAQ, it says "Keeping a Singtel number? Simply pop your SIM in! It'll automatically be activated within the hour".

I tried contacting the online support, which is the ONLY get to get through to anyone for help. Got the message to say they're busy, try again. The online chat system doesn't even allow me to be on hold. By the way, the chat doesn't work on Chrome browser on a mac.

Finally managed to chat with support after many tries. Guess what they said? Due to "overwhelming" demand, it will take 1 to 3 days to port over, even for Singtel numbers.

You'd think if this were so, they would at least put the announcement on their website so that everyone would know without having to try and get through to their lousy chat support.

This means including the 3 days I had to wait for delivery, I'd have paid for a week's service without being able to use it.

Don't think there is a difference as it's Singtel. Gomo is just their plan name.

Take note, for GOMO, no Volte, no iMessage activation.

What is imessage activation? Is it something for new phone or number on iphone only?

Yep. iMessage is used on those overpriced fruit phones.
I mean what is imessage activation? Existing iphone user if pop in gomo sim card can no longer use imessage?

I.e. iphone users shouls not sign gomo?

Yes it's impossible to reach their customer service for gomo. However, other than the annoying charge on sign up practice, everything else works great once you get the SIM card. Note that I didn't port in and got a brand new number.

Note that there is no roaming and no iMessage activation.

Free incoming is included as well as free caller ID.

Please also note that calls to 1800 don't work. It's confirmed on their Facebook page that it's currently not supported!

That's so much restrictions. I wonder if telco direct video calls and MMS works.

Mvnos from what I know do not support MMS and direct video calling (video calling someone via their number, deductible from your allocated minutes every month)

I wish I knew about this thread before porting over from Singtel my line and 2 of my family members’s line as well. My line and one other line got activated after an hour but the 3rd line still having problems getting activated. It has been 2 full days and all the customer service personnel could say is wait coz the problem is being attended to. Clueless how long this is going take.
Singtel still has the nerve to send me a SMS survey to rate their customer care service. Rating fro 1, very poor to 5, excellent. I wish there was a zero rating 😡

I just checked with the sales. This is a prepaid card. All those roaming add ons cannot be used. I guess I have to look at other plans since I always just buy the add ons when I travel.

It is a no contract plan, hence maybe after one full month, you can port out to other telco again.

I feel they are not prepared for the demand and its logistics. Remember when circles.life just started, it also has issues delivering sim card on time.

hmm so in essence this is just a prepaid plan that gets automatically topped-up every 30 days:s22::s22:.

since they are advertising no excess charges i was expecting throttled speed as per the current market condition but i guess they will just cut off access at that point.

being a pre-paid card i am worried about porting out in the future as well, my experience with local telcos thus far tells me that you will be forced to "port" to a singtel post-paid plan before you are allowed to port to the other telcos.

guess i will give this plan a miss after all as tempting as it might appear to be
