TNG Digital will impose a 1% fee on all credit card reloads for its Touch 'n Go eWallet service, starting from 23 February 2024. The company has announced that reloads made through DuitNow transfers and debit cards will remain free, aiming to promote these as cost-effective alternatives for users.

faster reload some first since rate is not bad now

Yes, you can top up TnG eWallet with YouTrip card
I wonder why when I asked this question to Youtrip, they replied cannot topup. Very strange.

Are you using TnG app linked to Youtrip very often in Malaysia ? Any other charges or fees ? I understand that for example Alipay, they have a 3% service charge, although nothing to do with Youtrip. What about TnG app ?

Have you or know of anyone use TnG linked to Youtrip card in Japan ? Apparently TnG can be used to scan the PayPay QR codes everywhere in Japan and some other Asian countries QR codes.

I've only used to use YouTrip to top up the TnG eWallet, before I switched to using iChange. Otherwise just paid direct with YouTrip

LOL, OK, let me put in point form maybe more readable.
1. TnG ewallet app can add Youtrip card for scanning QR code payment ? Just add the card and it will auto deduct from card during payment ?
2. TnG ewallet payment transactions got any service fees or charges ? Alipay is like 3% service fee for >200RMB.
3. Anyone got use TnG ewallet in Japan to scan their PayPay QR codes to pay ?

1. No. Doesn't deduct from personal cards but will deduct from eWallet of the app. Adding your cards is to top-up the eWallet.

2. No charges as I know - I only use in MY.

3. No experience. MYR is so weak better not to use overseas, my opinion; unless you are a MY & hence no options.

Thank you for your reply!
So it works differently from Alipay. I need to topup the ewallet from a card first before I can use it to pay. Youtrip card cannot be used to topup ?

1. Added Trust debit card to TnG. E wallet is always zero. Any scanning for payment, or barcode for payment, the Trust card will be activated for payment and notification via the app of the transaction. Hence, Trust savings account is still earning interest, as opposed to Youtrip.
