Hi all
Anyone having the following problems with xperia z?:-
No phone vibrate
Moving dots with using the camera (doesn't look like specks of dust)
mobile reception signal drops to zero even though on the same network with my colleagues.

Just to check, are these possible causes due to firmware updates etc?

No such issues with my set. I'm on the latest firmware. Tried doing a phone reset (note data will be wiped)?

After months and months of research I finally found something which let you increase the in-call volume thru earpiece and speaker on your sony xperia z song dah :D

[MOD] EXTRA VOLUME BOOST (Increase internal/external speaker and headphone volume) - xda-developers

Swype on Swiftkey? You mean Swiftkey Flow?

As explained by OnlyOne, please enable in Swiftkey setting.

One of the funny thing in Android is that SMS vibration is found in the Message setting, not under the General setting.

Moving dots? Can kindly explain the environment that you were shooting at e.g. Night, sunset and etc and the camera setting you were using?

Signal loss? Once in a rare blue moon will have this issue (some bus interchange dead spot) but shortly it will resume by itself. Otherwise try rebooting your phone.

I sometimes have the same problem. Occasionally its due to the phone not being able to sense the signal. No idea why but it happens. A hardware problem i guess?

My XZ is prone to dropping wifi connections. It can lose the signal even when the router is less than 10m away. My other devices seems to be working fine at distances greater than that so its definitely not a router issue. However the cellular signal reception seems to be stronger than my IP4.

Hi
I've checked the settings for the vibration, all looked normal. But once a while currently I felt the vibration working, albeit soft.

The moving dots in camera happens when I tried to shoot a video and also popped out when taking still pics, especially indoors.

Would like to ascertain that all are due to the firmware update recently?

I'm on the latest firmware and don't experience the issues you mentioned, so I highly doubt it's due to the update.

these problems sound more like hardware-related, rather than the software.

Sorry, could not ascertain due to the fact that I have moved on to custom ROM.

Actually the vibration is one of the strongest on phones that I have handled so far, even to the fact that the vibration can be heard by people sitting seats away from me.

As for the moving dots issue, is it due to high ISO (high noise)? Try going outdoor or somewhere brightly-lit and test your camera again. Remember to change your camera setting to manual and ensure that the ISO level is set to minimum (should be looking at 100 or 200, forgot the value).

If still persist, general guideline is to bring down to service centre and replicate the issue to the CSO on the spot.
