Here is another question.
Why is the Bluetooth automatically on when I enable the NFC?
Does it means NFC required using Bluetooth connection to work?

Or by not turning on the Bluetooth the NFC will not work...
nope...my bt is not on when I activate my nfc. maybe u are talking about when u activate nfc to use the wireless speaker? when u on nfc to touch the wireless speaker, it will activate your bt connection to pair with the speaker automatically.

Nope. NFC do not have that function as it only can establish the connection and you still need the Bluetooth to transfer the file over.

but how come samsung has the sbeam which uses nfc to transfer files?

Maybe you can try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.majedev.superbeam similar like Samsung SBeam ..

Got this from google.com doing a bit of research ..

Description
SuperBeam is the easiest and fastest way to share large files between Android devices using WiFi direct. You may pair your devices devices using QR codes (with the included QR code scanner) or NFC, if your devices support it.

Not sure but taken from the net from Wiki

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections

NFC offers a low-speed connection with extremely simple setup, and can be used to bootstrap more capable wireless connections.[14] For example, the Android Beam software uses NFC to complete the steps of enabling, pairing and establishing a Bluetooth connection when doing a file transfer.[15] Nokia, BlackBerry and Sony have used NFC technology to pair Bluetooth headsets, media players, and speakers with one tap in its NFC-enabled devices.[citation needed] The same principle can be applied to the configuration of Wi-Fi networks.

not sure if i too sensitive.. but after using the dock for 1 day... i feel tat the side tat slides into the dock is feeling abit like rough..
or is it due to taking in and out of the case
anyone also encounter that?

Yes, same here. That's why many of us did a little bit of "surgery" to the dock to smoothen the corners of those plastic squares that hold the Z in place. Now it goes in smooth as butter.

The pics, etc, are in the accessories thread.

Just remove the screws, then the rest are just the typical plastic latches. A little bit of pressure at the edges and it pops right open.

You have to take note that Sam Sung tweak the original Android firmware to the maximum so resulting their firmware suffering many bugs and resulting instability.

On the hand, Sony follows exactly Google's standard without tweaking the firmware to the maximum so resulting the stability of the firmware.

after changing from S3 LTE to Xperia Z, I must said the battery life of the Xperia Z is much better. Firmware is plain and simple.

Samsung firmware is much fun to play from stock, many features but some are useless. Yup its quite buggy at times and required restart of the phone. But Samsung phone are much easier to root and there is a pool of rom for you to choose thanks to the developer.

many people just follow the wave of buying phone, well this is a marketing success for the company( thanks to the Korean wave).

Apps like battery saver are really useless. You need to ensure that apps and other function like GPS, push notification do not compromise your phone CPU to be in sleep mode, when you are not using it.

so if Sony follows "Google's standard", shouldnt their android software updates then be almost immediate to Google's?? dont make sense to me...

They follow their specs of the firmware but they still need to configure the firmware to the homescreen which you will have small apps and inclusive of the Album, Walkman and Movies features in order for the BRAVIA or Walkman functions to work. =:p

If compared to Nexus then the firmware is plain Android Firmware so it will be faster to released compared to other brands manufacturer. That is why if you try the Nexus, when you use Sony Smartphones, you will find the similarity like layout etc.

What is S Beam, and how do I use it? my samsung

It uses NFC to establish the connection, then uses WI-FI DIRECT to transfer the files.

It would help to read before you say Samsung uses NFC for the data transfer too. :)

oh! haha. sorry i all along though sbeam uses NFC to directly send files. so can anyone enlighten me if its possible to send files via NFC on the Xperia Z? so far have not successfully done so.

I called kasia, and check there website, they state it at 810, where you get 740, I visited them 2 days also still 810, I think maybe you mistake the price..

It is written on the big board at their entrance. And it stated $730 today.

No, it uses Bluetooth. NFC is horrendously slow, short range (a few cm only) and is not designed for file transfer (unlike bluetooth, which started out as a way to easily send files and contacts to bypass carrier MMS costs and dataplan requirements)
