i just realise that the trade in value of this great phone fell to below 300. so sad.. its less than a year and this flagship phone price just saddens me.

i am eagerly anticipating Z2 but think i will have to top up at least 600 when its released.

Do the glass back pop or flip loosen?(My Xperia S's flap drops and need reattached to the rubber part using super glue =X) ?

My glass does not pop. The flip does not loosen. However the rubber sealing the phone loosen after around 11 months of use. depends on how u use it lor. I think Z1 will be a better choice or the rumored Z2.

If you are buying off contract I would have recommend it, since it is released for almost a year and Sony does not promise further updates for next year.

But if you are getting a phone on contract, you might as well wait for the new phones announcement during MWC in Mar/Apr.

New phones usually mean two main factors.
1) Better hardware, battery and more options.

2) If you are not happy with those new phones, you can still get this phone for lower price.
Since new phone announcements, older models may see a dip in prices.

But I know of some cases where if its just a small crack, and you are really really lucky, they MIGHT give you a 1-1 exchange.

Guys I've been using the Xperia z for quite a while, and the battery really is horrible. 100% to 5% in 6hours 47 minutes, screen on time 3 hours 3 minutes. The thing is, I've offed NFC, bluetooth, gps, location services, wifi. Brightness 0%, offed all animations in developer options and battery life is still worse than my iPhone 5(4.5 hours screen on time). Is this normal or? Because was thinking to buy Xperia z1 but if the battery is so horrible then I'm going to jump camp :/ but I work for Sony.. This is really disappointing.

Sometimes u need to disable some of the built in apps which u don't use. Then monitor again..

There is no wireless charging for Z, unless u are talking about wireless charging via the phone cover. There are 2 versions in the taobao market; 1 is the cover also act as the power bank, the other is purely cover. Both will charge via the Qi charging. I never tried either one before, so cannot comment though.

But I have tried the charging clip, which imo is the best without having to open the cover flap le.

Wireless charging will never charge as fast as contact charging.

Hmm, coming from an iPhone 4S user... i think for the screen size that the Z is offering the battery life is REALLY good... Esp after the 4.3 update, the battery life is marvellous man.
Easily getting a full day of usage with at least 20% left. Screen time - maybe about 4.5 - 5hrs.

Did you try activating stamina at about 50%? It does help quite a bit.
And I doubt changing to a Z1 would make much of a difference...

I also activated stamina mode I have no idea why the battery life is so poor. Now the phone is very hot even when I closed all the task and found out Android Os is taking up a lot of the battery usage..

Maybe try reformatting/ *** Repair the phone?

Woah really. Because when I updated to 4.3 I did a wipe. Hmmmm if I backed up my app data will I be able to restore it like iPhone? A bit troublesome to do everything again heh
