Updated to custom ROM ExistenZ Rom 7.0...

I really love the customization.

Can share how to flash custom rom? I had done it with my tablet but not Xperia z cuz I can't find much info on it.

Which software did u use to root it? And which software to flash the rom?

Flashtool is used to flash ROMs. There are usually instructions in the ROM thread on what is required (some require unlocked bootloaders) and how to flash.

The eXistenZ ROM thread is here:

[ROM][KK][LB,UB][.230] eXistenZ Ultimate | 1.5.5 | Light & Dark | AROMA | OTA | 24/06 - XDA Forum

Already mentioned in this thread that it might be due to Chrome browser. Update the browser.

Damn! the stupid Google Play Service bug still not fixed after nearly a month! disable location service doesn't fix it and uninstall the update only temp solve it, few days later, it update by itself although I specifically uncheck all auto update.

I would have prefer Sony to fix all the bug issues instead of updating to the latest Android version when I can't see or feel any improvement. worst, they added a bug...

After enduring the faded screen for one year, maybe its time ditch it for good.

Eh, send to Service Centre? Think that's the only option. Or buy Xperia Z2. :D

A search via Google shows that this "bug" is also affecting other devices like Nexus, LG and Samsung on KitKat. So I think the issue lies with Google Play Service and KitKat, not really the phone manufacturers.

Perhaps, you would like to try this:
Google Play Services battery drain fix | Product Reviews Net

Or simply downgrade to 4.3.

Any idea around how much it cost to repair ? getting Z2 will be better if the cost it too high.

will give it a try, thanks.

Or simply downgrade to 4.3.

Camera, 3rd party apps--SKYPE, brand specific apps, etc, most if not all of them were NOT related to Google Play Service or Google's apps and were more or less fixed by the respective manufacturer--these issues were reported way back in Mar/Apr, Kitkat was release in Dec 2013. Sony had all the time they had to fix it before releasing the update, especially from the early adopter of KK from other maker.

"High power drain on non-Nexus devices is not something we can help with. If you have a Note, or any other non-Nexus device, you'll have to reach out to your manufacturer," a Google AOSP project member wrote.

Google probably is partly to blame but the manufacturer should take responsibility if they decided to make the update. HTC for example, halted the OTA when they discovered the "bug". my M7 after KK update never have a single issue.

btw, I won't touch the app from your link, god know what it will do to the system. if a tiny app can fix this issue, I bet Sony could have done that weeks ago.
