Not that i don't like,but my search for a phone is actually intended for her.been search for a suitable model since january,and actually about to buy the Nibiru...until i read about the bad reviews.

In fact I'm very tempted to get a ZF5 for myself..

Let my sis test it out first. It's still in china awaiting shipment to Australia.

china allows batteries on planes. Just that all li-ion batteries must be hand-carried. No check-in or air-frieght will be allowed due to risk.

If you are flying domestic in china or out of china, all laptop, camera, spare batteries must be hand-carried. If you want to try, they may miss some but once they find something in you check-in luggage, they will want you to open everything.

Cathay Pacific also has a directive that limit the amount of li-ion batteries one can carry as apparently, someone tried to carry a whole suitcase of li-ion batteries onboard.

Tried my zenfone5, when there is a messaging thread, they will separate the messages of both parties. It will be like message from "A" then "B" and not according to time. Is there some setting we can do?

You missed the plot here. What I'm referring to is buying from china e-commerce websites and having it shipped here by air. Obviously if you are a traveller,you can hand carry batteries into the flight.all passengers hand carry handphone,Ipads and power banks when they travel.no issues so far right? But if you tried carrying abnormal amount or type of batteries,say a suitcase load of phone batteries,or a bulky car battery,sure you will be stopped.
Current situation is a bit strict.you can still try to ship batteries stuff in small quantity, but there is a risk of getting your entire parcel confiscated. that's why many forwarder is not keen to help you ship your stuff over.

I think the messaging app groups the conversation by threads instead but the threads themselves are sorted by date/time. If u do not like this arrangement, perhaps u can try using a 3rd party messaging app instead?


A bonus for SMS users is the asus messaging app allows for backing up of SMS msgs without the need for a 3rd party backup app.

Sorry, I am not trying to start an argument. Their strict freight forward policy on many things are due to unrest internally as well as known problem/risk of the products.

Anything with li-ion battery can go by land-sea route only, even domestically. To you, it is just a small issue that your parcel are being confiscated. But for the frieght company, they risk penalties and even withdrawal of licence.

I understand your frustration and I encountered that before. So the 4 options I used these days are 1) hand carry myself (conincide with biz trip or holiday), 2) hand carry by someone else, 3) sea freight, 4) other sources.

No problem.I'm just sharing some of my recent experiences here.
It's still possible to purchase battery stuff and get it shipped here,just that the risks increased.not encouraged especially expensive stuff.

Asus seems to doing something right when it comes to heat dissipation. I noticed that many smartphones will become quite warm at specific spots if the screen is left on for a period of time. The ZF5 on the other hand does not have specific hot spots. It is only mildly warm throughout even with prolonged usage. :)

It appears that Asus may be bringing in the high spec ver of ZF5 to other markets like HK. I wonder if our local market will be included as well? :s22:

ZF5 smoked black TPU case, comes with a clear screen protector. Decent quality case, with proper cut outs for buttons, micro usb port, mic, etc.

So should we go for $199 local set lower specs or $238 export set better specs?

Till now still no news about local set.
