My battery life only drops 5-10% overnight. With either wifi or 3g on.

basically if u seldom use the phone and it is mostly on standby mode... battery life is actually pretty good.... otherwise if u keep using it to play game/watch video/surf net etc... battery life drops very fast...

in other words... certainly not for a heavy user... think the battery wouldn't last half a day if u continuously using it... otherwise it's very good phone for light users...

some ppl buy phone pay certain price and expect too much for phone then later say the phone lousy battery drain v fast etc... i'd say it's more like wrong expectations...

But dropping 20% over is quite alot . Not expecting it to perform like sony or samsung high end.
I have 2 phone , zf5 for personal and htc m7 for office. Same apps for 2 hp. my htc drop 5% overnight but my zf5 drop 20%. Not very sure what wrong with it.

I am not complaining but just airing my view here. If your phone perform weird , i believe you will post here .

Who knows someone from Asus is reading this thread and they might look into the problem. Don't you see many weird encounters here. Even the flagship phones have problems.

can also consider redmi 1s ($169) or redmi note ($199)
redmi 1s available from Redmi 1S - mi.com
redmi note have to get from handphone shops at a slight premium, or wait for next time-limited xiaomi sale

note:
redmi note has backlight for home, menu, back keys
both redmi 1s & zenfone series phones don't have
this may a consideration for less tech savvy users
