It's very easy to remove the battery, use a penknife to peel off the front starting from the red cross. Peel all the way until the LCD panel. Use a small screw driver to lift up the circuit board again starting from the red cross point. You may need to break 3 red weldments. There, you can remove the CR2016 battery. After replacing the battery, it came up with a lock pin mode, you can't unlock it, call their help desk, they say to you have to pay them $15/- for new token after 1-yr ..

There is a security build in. Once you cut the power, the device is in locked mode.

Now everything also push people to use mobile apps. This token even if got battery from next year Apr onwards will be useless.

Physical token is more secured for certain types of transactions.

Same as bank etoken, once register on new phone, old phone etoken cannot use. So make sure no one can access your mobile number sms service and email

great thanks! i still prefer hw token. didn't like to install these apps as i don't access banking or singpass when I'm outside

the onekey token is obsolete but IT dinosaurs take some time to die out. official termination date is 1 Apr 2021.

I think SGX is aware of the problem - nobody is going to spend $15 to replace battery of an obsolete product, so you have to e-mail /call them for the workarounds.

Sometimes these e-tokens offered by the banks are not reliable also. Call them they also don't know how to troubleshoot. Then they just ask you to reinstall again

Apparently that's the way it seems.

Nowadays they keep pushing the elderly to use mobile apps. The "cashless" payment by QR code is another one. Nvm that it can be challenging for some elderly folks to press/drag, operate and read from a mobile phone.

Hi, just to check have you all dispose the onekey token? Saw there is a no dustbin logo at the back of the token, so does it mean i have to throw at the green e-waste recycle bin? Tia!

The most suck digital token is posb/dbs. Besides the digital token, I need to check email for code to complete trx. Had to called them to cancel the digital token and revert back to physical token.

i think u should just go to the bank for a replacement and for OCBC, its free unless u lose it then must make a payment of $20 if I'm not wrong.
