One Key token low battery

I just dismantled the token. Manage to get the battery out. Will try to buy a new CR2016 battery to see whether it survived my dismantling.

Hows the batt change? Does it work?

Mine also batt went dead sonetime ago, damn, can't login to CDP(the NRIC law needs to create username or sorts).

Then OneToken side say need $15 fee (token more than a year).

Call CDP and tell them ur token run out of battery. They will reset how u login in to CDP for u so that u can receive OTP via sms to login in to CDP. U can view ur account but if U want to make changes like which bank to receive dividend , they will still need u to use ur token to generate OTP. I download the form online and mail to CDP to make that change . Don’t want to pay $15.

U can still change default login to sms.... Without needing the token

Besides CDP, what else can the Token be used for? Feels very wasteful to buy new one at $15 if the only use is the CDP.

singpass also use it last time, now not sure since think singpass got app also now

Yes , by calling the hotline . Before that , I only have one option to login in- using the token. Now I can login in via sms OTP, but any changes eg... bank account to receive dividend etc still need the token OTP.

no, by right you need both physical token + sms for double security, even banks used to do that last time. like when add new payee, you have to key a code sent to SMS into the token, to get a new code from the token.


but they cutting cost now all shift to simi digital token when dont know whats the difference between using digital token and using purely sms , some banks have extra PIN code you have to use for the digital token for certain features, but too long never use easily forget

since when you lose your phone someone can access both of it anyway

Ya, I’ve got the digital token for bank app too. Quite safe la, because the app needs pw to log in, then can access the digital token.

They reply me in email saying only 1st year foc, which after needs $15 even when its only batt flat

My onekey token is out of battery and I need to update my address and DCS bank a/c on CDP. Assurity replied that need to pay $15 to replace token as coy policy changed wef Aug'19.

Is there any way I can update my address and bank a/c electronically? (i.e. w/o using token or sending in via snail mail)

It's very easy to remove the battery, use a penknife to peel off the front starting from the red cross. Peel all the way until the LCD panel. Use a small screw driver to lift up the circuit board again starting from the red cross point. You may need to break 3 red weldments. There, you can remove the CR2016 battery. After replacing the battery, it came up with a lock pin mode, you can't unlock it, call their help desk, they say to you have to pay them $15/- for new token after 1-yr ..
