iirc from OP9 onwards CN set under OPPO's arm become colorOS. Flashing method changed.

ok so that means these shops are still bringing in China sets with ColorOS, then they flash to OxygenOS and load in Playstore before selling, but because the procedure now doesn't work so there are many failed sets reported here.

What are the cons of sticking with ColorOS exactly? No otp, no NFC etc?

I think mainly due to bloatwares, payment issue (google pay etc), notification delay for messaging apps, widevine L3?

In the realme gt neo 5(with China rom) thread, a user shared that locally(Singapore) "critical" functions like singpass, bankapps, otp are all working fine. Google pay to I understand works ok too.

most app on coloros work fine just "hey google" not working.
Previously i flashed to global rom but giving me some issue so went back to coloros for now.
Also some user say that coloros is more well optimize and battery life better vs oxygen os but also not sure whether coloros more aggressive in killing app vs oxygen os google services.

I just feel that this thread is getting out of hand with Ace 2, when official sg is only selling 1 model, and without issues, but people are getting the idea it isnt good due to non-local models flash to oxygenOS having issues etc whereas locally bought sets seems mostly fine.

i think the most common issue flashed set have is the auto brightness not working well, sometime the phone when unlocking have refresh rate issue, the one i cant deal with is my wifi keep getting cut off.

Oh and to add on, those china set will have region call issue, so i dont recommend purchasing it unless it cant be solved, which i manage to bring to oppo service center to do it. but recently hearsay they rejecting it without proper recipt
