Having used OP12 for sometime before transitting to a foldable, I would say take those online reviews/benchmarks with a pinch of salt. OP12 easily one of the best phones I have used, will hoot a OP13 as spare if can get one CN set flashed global rom unlocked <$700 in future.

Also, my experiences with MTK so far its been hit or miss- my 1st choice will always be Snapdragon.

wait for oxygenos 15 global rom for oneplus13 first then buy safer. so they can flash it for you and insert their china sim card to region unlock for ur device.

Can flash by yourself but how you gonna resolve region lock? no guarantee that oneplus service center will unlock for you. If so, why take the risk and do it yourself with a chance of bricking it if u are not familiar with it. Of course there is also risk that china ppl do everything for you but ultimately everyone is doing a service for money. Dont think they wanna break their rice bowl by doing anything malicious as the mobile shop competition in china is v competitive.

Ya can be true or not true. Take it with a pinch of salt and dont believe everything on the internet. Ultimately we still need to make our own decision. The rest can only be taken as a reference.

Flash I don’t think is the problem. The problem is the region lock imposed on the China sets.

better on hold buying OP13 first, tiagong from chinese social media that alot users say the battery not fantasy and got network problem in china. not sure global will affected or not. they say their network keep dropping, dunno they referring to wifi or their 5G. somemore they are on colorOS 15 right now. take it with a pinch of salt.

aside from the region lock thing... just want to chip in as well that just because OP12 can convert without any major difference aside from the hardware-based ones (like e-sim), doesn't 100% means OP13 will be able to convert as well. an example would be the OnePlus Ace 3 which last I checked, will still have some issues after converting to global 12R software (some network thing after doing OTA, can search XDA for info). so unless okay with CN ColorOS, can get seller to do region unlock, don't really recommend anyone jumping the gun now hoping to be able to convert ownself later. cause from OnePlus' behaviour since the Ace 2, they seem to be trying hard to dissuade ppl from buying CN set and converting to global for some reason (personal guess is maybe global retail partners not happy being undercut?) so never know if they will implement even more things with OP13 or not. wait and see better.

Just for info, 11.11 was looking at Sally.co listing, and I asked them global variant not released, how come they have global set? What ROM do they flash with? And they just tell me "have global set, choose global" over and over again. Seller probably don't know what backend is doing.

Just beware as I believe they should be flashing with some other ROM. Probably no issue but I think worth noting

Very likely it's not official, but some 3rd party online English ROM. No way they can get it from official sources privately, when the global launch dates arent even announced
