Pulled the trigger on a used second hand OP13 china flashed global rom set, off carousell as spare phone (very cheap). Tested so far so good, all banking apps, singpass, gpay all working. Battery very power. Only con is cannot OTA update, and phone a bit too big. Feels like a single sided Oppo N5 tho oxygen OS is definitely much more polished than ColorOS imho.

Any tips?

I have the CN version, but after flashing to global rom got no signal in Singapore. Need to root use the signal fix but all bank apps cannot use after rooting.

I decided to stay on ColorOS since like no diff, but if you have a way to get it to work please tell me.

No idea bro, was already flashed when bought. Difference is big, for oxygenOS vs china colorOS and global coloros, at least in my experience.

Not sure bah, I went to google the difference between the Oneplus ColorOS and Oxygen OS, the differences like very minor. Basically the same thing. You explain to me what is the big changes loh. I'm guessing you can't and just say big only.

I might even suggest you flash back to ColorOS. From my experience so far, the reason your apps can work is because the guy install SUSFS with kernel changes and that will lead to security risks. Also, a big OS update will come in May and that might break your current security bypass once you update your Oxygen OS.

Like I mentioned in previous posts I'm aware I don't have the ability to OTA update but I'm fine with it. Nothing will break as I'm savvy and know what I'm doing. Ok I just checked.

You need either to get back to Color OS, since you own the Chinese device which needs the Chinese modem drivers.

Or, as already suggested, you flash the global ROM package from this thread, manually Flash the Chinese Modem driver images and then you can relock the Bootloader - but you will loose OTA capability and will have to go though full phone setup each time you want to flash an update as you need unlocked Bootloader for that which will automatically deleted memory content.

If want smaller size SD8E phone with flat screen, wouldn't the base Xiaomi 15 or S25 be the best alternatives?

Yeah the Xiaomi 15 seems like my top choice now, all the specs checks out.
My only concern is hyperOS and if there is any advertisement On xiaomi phone.

Just hyperOS alone turns me off....

The battery optimization on hyperOS is even worst than OxygenOS

An ad free (out of the box, without having workarounds and disabling this and that), optimised HyperOS with third party launcher support would make many of their phones proper and credible flagship killers.

Funny how they can establish an entire independent SoC division but cannot (or don't want to) get their software right.

It's really not like the old days where hardware is the main differentiator, especially since custom ROM development is being bogged down by tightening BL unlocking restrictions and Play Integrity etc.

Standing up for mega-companies doesn't help the average consumer like you and me. Also hope you noticed that we were talking about the base Xiaomi 15, a phone in their flagship lineup.

Guess your misinterpretation is my fault then... but the ads argument is something so obvious that the demographic of this forum would already know anyway. It's been repeated for years.

Just because something is the norm also doesn't make it right or optimal.
