ya but i always has the mentality that coloros is tailored specially for the china market. it would definitely work very well for china apps like wechat/alipay/weibo but i'm worried abt the poor support for spotify/youtube/google wallet. Whereas oxygenos is tailored specially for india/international market. so i'm expected more support for global apps like spotify/youtube/wallet/google map to be working properly.

i believe they got 2 team of developers for the OS, a team of china developers for coloros and a team of indian developers for oxygenos. both forked from a parent repo that contain their common UI. That why most changes u see in coloros will update in oxygenos as well soon.
Yea its basically same source code. I rather they just rebrand everything as a single OS.

But some stuffs from oxygenOS is missing on colorOS though, e.g. showing ram usage on recents manager

i think oxygenOS has lesser bloatwares and restrictions since it's for the international market whereas for the china's colorOS it's the china market, sure got something inside which is tweaked to abide the CCP policy which we dunno about. all china company and their softwares for china market have to abide by their CCP policy. For example CCP come out some policy that all ginna cannot gaming on their "phone" for long hours, so idk whether is it app specific or os specific that maybe one day they monitor how long u used ur phone and force you to shutdown. it's just an example/theory/possibility since it's a blackbox to us. but well i dont want a time-bomb on my phone, i rather have a phone with lesser restriction and monitoring.

From what i experienced, OxygenOS is the least bloated (used to be 0 bloats), then ColorOS, then RealmeUI (abit like MIUI in the sense that the inbuilt apps like musiic and video player comes with ads), but all 3 UI look almost identical to each other.
Recent versions of OOS start to come with some preinstalled apps like FB and Oneplus Store and their own browser.

OnePlus 13R rumours have been circulating online for months now with the launch finally around the corner. Like previous models, the OnePlus 13R is also expected to launch as the global version of the OnePlus Ace 5 launching in China this month. The OnePlus 13 global launch is confirmed for January, which is when we should see the 13R too. Before that, here’s an early Christmas gift from us courtesy of OnLeaks who has shared the full spec sheet of the OnePlus 13R with 91mobiles.

OnePlus 13R specifications

This leak covers all the important details about the OnePlus 13R including its display, cameras, battery, and colours. Let’s take a look:

  • Display: OnePlus 13R will feature a 6.78-inch (1264×2780) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 450 PPI. This is the same as the OnePlus 12R but there could be upgrades in areas like peak brightness.
  • Processor: The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s flagship chipset from last year. OnePlus 12R has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
  • RAM and storage: OnePlus 13R is said to launch with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. There could be more variants at launch or later as the OnePlus 12R is available in three configurations.
  • Cameras: It will house a triple-camera setup of 50 MP (f/1.8) + 8 MP (f/2.2) + 50 MP (f/2.0) and a 16 MP (f/2.4) front camera. One upgrade here is the new 50MP camera on the OnePlus 13R.
  • Battery, charging: OnePlus 13R will pack a 6,000mAh battery like the flagship OnePlus 13. It surprisingly has 80W fast charging support, which is a downgrade as the 12R supports up to 100W.
  • Software: The smartphone will run OxygenOS 15.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.
  • Other features: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C, in-display optical fingerprint sensor, and Infrared remote control.

In terms of dimensions (161.72 x 75.77 x 8.02mm), the OnePlus 13R will be slightly shorter and thinner than the 12R. It will also weigh a gram lighter than the 12R. Its colour options are Nebula Noir and Astral Trail. We might see a third colour variant a few months after its debut.

We should know all about the OnePlus 13R once the Ace 5 launches in China. It should come with no changes except for the price obviously, and configurations.

to add on a bit ah, after testing out how well the SD8 Elite + USB 3.2 Gen1 display out gaming setup works, any phone using SD8 Elite that doesn't have USB 3.2 Gen1 isn't worth considering at all to me liao.
