Furious. The seller on Qoo10 (DIITAL LIFESTYLE) is very dishonest with their conduct. There's another round of delay but if you are paying an extra $30 you can get the phone by this week. Here's their reply on the status of delivery.

"Dear buyers,
As we are only able to get some limited stocks from the OnePlus US. Due to the current situation(very worst) from the country, there is an additional charges for the flights delivery fees and import taxes as $30. The stock will be arrived at our office on this Friday(4 Sep).
Therefore we are asking you to top up $30 to our paynow account, if you do agree to pay for the fees, we will able to dispatch your order this Friday(probably reached you at Saturday(5 Sep).
If you didnt want to pay for the fees, you may wait for next batch of stock. Which have no idea when will have stock again..

We are sorry for the long waiting time, OnePlus Nord just newly launched and OnePlus known for low productivity. Kindly reply us asap so that we are able to make a confirmation of the orders. Hope for your understanding. Thanks"

The Nord is not even on sales in the US. What story are they spinning? Why should the buyers pay more to cover their higher cost? That essentially mean they are running a risk-free business. Going by their logic they should be giving discounts if their cost price is lower than expected 😂 but of course that was never going to happen.

Does anyone know if this can be brought up to Q10 and get them to go honour their selling price and *and* deliver by 5 Sept *without* additional payment?

Piggyback on existing 4G infra...

Standalone still around 2025..
With the country's two nationwide 5G standalone networks scheduled to be operational by 2025, IMDA noted that mobile operators here had expressed interest in using non-standalone networks as a short-term and interim, while they rolled out their standalone networks.

"Riding on existing 4G networks, the 5G NSA networks will enable consumers to enjoy some 5G benefits such as faster mobile speeds on 5G-enabled devices," IMDA said, noting that operators -- upon obtaining its approval -- would be permitted to run market trials and offer some early commercial 5G services to consumers.

It added that it would work with the operators to develop a regulator framework to ensure "a smooth transition" from non-standalone to standalone 5G networks.

hhmmm... I would attribute it to poor command of english. Doesnt the Mi 10 Ultra have delivery delays also? So he might be telling the truth. The extra $30 might actually be for DHL or FedEX express shipping.

I suppose you can raise a dispute with Qoo10 but I dont see a favourable outcome. Might be best to cancel the order.

CASE will be useles too since CASE will tell you they will take 2-3 mths to follow through the issue.

I called Qoo10 and to the seller's (and Q10's) credits, they reached out to me within 30mins of my call to Qoo10.

minuteez may be right about poor command of English. One of the staff unable to clearly explain to me so she passed the call to a manager named Grace who managd to do a better job at it.

Basically they will be procuring just enough units from another source (US, but I didn't probe further why the US) only for buyers who are willing to pay the additional shipping cost, i.e. if only 10 users paying they are only getting 10 units.

So it's not like they are holding the stock and trying to make more money out of you but rather they can help you to get the phone earlier if you are willing to pay the additional shipping fee.

Of course all of this can be cow excrement but I doubt neither Qoo10 (the sellers make money for them after all) nor CASE (the amount is insignificant compared to other complaints) will be taking any actions. I'll probably just pay the $30 -- it just means that the savings vs local set is not as much as before.

It's prolly not official OnePlus US. Maybe another importer. Like how we are buying CN sets.

I bought cheep TP and it doesnt cover whole screen :s13: now on the lookout for new TP and case. Currently using cheep diary case I bought also.

$503. Haven't got any accessories yet but thought I should get a case from Taobao since it seems hard to get locally.

Yeah im 1 of the few who got from shopee ba...didnt know its such a hot item...no pun intended haha
