now in colorOS recovery...i tried wipe data and cache...that is the only option that it have...reboot but still in recovery

i tried adb push a file ...it send through but i cant install from sd card...upon choosing the option..it remain there..so basically i cant flash any other rom or zip file

I got the phone and i need to update..

There is no fastboot option and also user flash to Oppo stock recovery with no option to install from SD as the install from SD is grey out.

So right now,

I have a working stock recovery with no option for ADB push/sideload. As ADB push works with CWM and TWRP.

So summary..

No fastboot option
No ADB sideload
No OS

Headache..

Tried the command and it goes back to recovery.

Since now most options are invalid now.

Can I suggest to try to "Format System"?

When u mentioned Recovery, is it TWRP?

Cos I did a "Format System" to wipe all data in SD Memory, left with TWRP and some other files.

From there, I rebooted the cell in TWRP recovery & after I have updated USB drivers I can "see" my cell in adb devices. I sideloaded a new rom & Gapps.

In CWM and TWRP, you can mount the whole phone as a USB storage and then you can copy in anything in you like.

Does this help? I have not started playing to that level yet.

Am running TWRP

I remembered is go under advance

Then type adb push ZIP /sdcard

will transfer the file to your sdcard

he even video the issue..Video link: drive.google.com/file/d/0B9O1Lrus5RP7UjdXa19nWTBPYVU/edit?usp=sharing

like me, he did try to switch to colorOS by using the method in XDA where brick phones could be switch back to life...but again..even in ColorOS, we are stuck in the recovery

Hi thks for sharing... Anywhere I can read up on now to do it the best is step by step guide.

Cos i all along im a iOS user and this is in fact my 2nd andriod Hp.

Another Q: is it easy to root?

Do I need to root in order to install the miui rom?

Thks

I think you need to be rooted and then install this rom via a custom recovery

Rooting opo for its a bit tricky, i got stuck at driver and had to do hunting to resolve the problem.

Here the video i followed OnePlus One - How to Root (Simple & Safe) - YouTube

If you feel that you do it, then YOLO. But do some digging first.
For opo there is no extsdcard slot so NEVER format the storage(AKA advance wipe) if not all files gone no zip no rom no nothing had to use adb push.

Overall rooting for OPO:6/10 for me
