Just rooted my opo with Validus lollipop rom....awesome. that's the fun part about this phone.....it's so easy to root as compared to others where you have to worry about 'bricking' it. Not to say it wont(if you dont read carefully) but it's very robust. Enjoying the tweaks and speeds it gives the phone.

I really like my Oneplus One, but this is why you shouldn't buy one...

Why the OnePlus 2 May Not Run Cyanogen Software | TechnoBuffalo

One of the main reason why I feel this phone is so damn nice is the integration of CyanogenMod with the top range hardware. However, the innards of handphones nowadays are pretty similar when you compare phones in the top flight and it's usually the ROM flavour that sets things apart.

Being mainly a hardware company, Oneplus's inhouse OS capability hasn't been tested yet, and hence the current 2 ROMs that its phone runs on, ColorOS and CM11S are out-sourced. Then when the partnership with CyanogenMod breaks down, users may be left feeling stranded. Of course, the more saavy will say just get the nightly/M-releases for CM. My selling point to my friends has always been you get CM11S stock.

Why the worry?
Update when available OTA.
If next major Android not officially supported, just flash to other ROMs.
High profile developers are supporting OPO, at least this is going on for the next year.

mai kan cheong. tia gong AOSP lollipop got lots of bugs. Let the developers and other users catch them first.

Historically AOSP need to release ver 2 to be stable.

So enjoy chocolate goodness and watch other pple scream in pain.
