Unless its got fingerprint sensor and Qhd screen.

By the way its using snapdragon 810 hot chip, tweak below 200mhz clock on OP2. Add thermal insulation around chip to anticipate heat away. Is that enough? And we just got to wait and see.

Phone will auto shut down when temperature too high to cool down, phone cannot function properly.

Powerful chip that is too hot to handle.

Hopefully version 2.1 of the 810 proves better... Hmm..
Perhaps it's still a better choice to wait for a phone with 820.

I read report Sony Xperia Z4 is having the overheat issue which use the latest version 2.1 chip.

Go google Xperia Z4 overheat.

With so many places and manufacturers highlighting on the 810 overheat issue, it suffices to say that is some real issue with the chip. That's probably the reason why the 808 came up also. Better to avoid 810 if possible for now :p

So given that. Will op2 be a flop?

I'm not siding with OnePlus, but the Z4/Z3+ has a waterproof metal/glass enclosure which may have exacerbated the overheating situation. The OnePlus 2 may not suffer a similar problem. There is currently another device in the market that uses the v2.1 chip, i.e. Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. A quick Google search will reveal that there was a complaint in China regarding overheating (which was quckly picked up by tech sites) and claimed to be proof of v2.1 overheating. Xiaomi has since come out to clarify that the incident was an isolated incident and overheating on the Mi Note Pro is largely exaggerated. In fact, Xiaomi has applied for several patents that dealt with heat dissipation, which allowed the 810 to run without overheating. As for the OnePlus 2, we'll just have to wait and see before making any sweeping judgments about potential overheating.

No worries lah, we having objective discussion here. :).I know the Japanese phones like sharp and Fujitsu have also put up user notices about the 810 overheating, plus the LG flex 2 issues. The fact that one plus with be designing the op2 with enhanced heat dispersion already sounds that they acknowledge the overheating will be a real issue liao.:p. Anyway since they know about it and prepare for it, the problem can perhaps be surmounted:)

Haha, just pointing out some facts to contribute to the discussion. By the way, the LG G Flex 2 is using v2, not v2.1 so it's not a valid comparison. Not sure about Sharp and Fujitsu but my understanding is that the only devices with v2.1 in the market now are the Sony Z3+/Z4 and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.
