Edit: Is the wifi weak for opo? Heard around. Is it ok if your router is in living room and you sit in your room blocked by a wall?
OPO has a more updated SoC, Snapdragon 801 vs the 800 on the Note 3. Although in real usage, there honestly isn't much of a difference.
If you need IR blaster, then go for Note 3 la. It also has microSD card slot and removable battery if those are what you prefer. Note 3 has also quite a huge developer community so there are definitely custom ROMs for it.
Regarding AMOLED burn in, um you're only using till end of the year, don't think it matters. Moreover the newer AMOLED panels doesn't seem to have this problem imo
