so in another words if we wanna do a clean flash, we have to backup everything to a computer first?

If you're using recovery to flash, there'll be option for you to select which partition to clean/wipe.

Normally full wipe / clean flash = wipe /system, /date , /cache & dalv cache.
/internal = your sd card. Clean flash / full wipe won't clear your sd card.

And yes, apps + apps' data is under /data, so it'll be wiped, thus you need to backup everything lor.

I usually use TitaniumBackup Pro to do full backup, it's worth the money.

Alternately you can use cloud backup from google as well, so when you clean flash a phone and log into your gmail, it'll detect and download everything again from playstore based on what you've installed during the backup (be sure to use wifi to download, if not data cap explode @_@).
Photos/contacts/media stuffs can be uploaded to your preferred cloud and sync them again after clean flash.

Hope this helps.

cm 12.1 = 5.1.x

Managed to root the phone, anyone knows if there's any roms/kernels to swipe up to wake the screen? Like on htc one m8. Can't seem to find anywhere. :/

swipe up to wake screen? OPO comes with double tap to wake already isn't it.
Most of the ROMs come with those 3 basic gesture, doubletaptowake, V for flashlight, O for camera, all these during screen off.

You can try Knockr, closest to what you're looking for.

anyone knows how to disable the banner notifications when running full screen apps?

its very irritating... :(

That banner thingy is called heads-up notification, what ROM u using? Some roms can disable that thing or blacklist certain apps or so.

Yeah. My wife also kpkb about the stock camera app on her N5. But she dun want to use CM so I tell her to suck it. :D

Sian, the camera app on OxygenOS looks bad.

I guess there's CM12S?

Paiseh, its been awhile haven't play my 1+.

Try cameranextmod, colorOS camera port. They're both better IMO.

Let see who is the next cyano partner?
Must be big in size to help them to expand and reach out to masses.

Hmmm.... Huawei? ZTE? HTC? LG? Lenovo-Motorola?

Micromax, India. Micromax's Yu series that it. I'm guessing this partnership is what broke off OnePlus and Cyano. OnePlus was once banned in India because of the agreement between Micromax and cyno as Mm wants to have the exclusivity.

I can't remember with other recoveries. But with TWRP, internal SD is not included with the usual "Factory Reset".

However, sometimes it is not clear what app data goes where. For instance, /data (which is wiped in "Factory Reset") will usually contain an app's internal data. However, your media, like photos and videos, including browser downloads, will go into the "internal SD".

To be safe, just backup.

you still trying to disable the banner thingy isit? they're auto enabled one, have to go through settings to disable them. What ROM u upated? If cm12.1 +, users have been reporting network drop from the firmware, you can flash OXYGEN OS fw, it has been confirmed that oOS has better modem fw.

do you have a search icon in your settings menu? If so, click on it and search "head", it'll bring you to it. I'm using blisspop, the headsup settings is under "bliss interface" in settings menu. Different from cm.
Check under /display, /notification, /notification panel/bar.
Or try this:
Open any full screen game, that when you receive something, that banner will pop out.
Once you receive pop up, ignore it, then wait for it go away
go back homescreen > pull down notification bar > touch and hold the notification > it'll flip to different UI, check if there's a bell icon there, if so, tap on it to disable.

If none of these work, time to flash different ROM. :D

Yes, download and flash the file from recovery.

but please, before anything, make a nandroid backup first (not the typical apps data backup), so if you went into bootloop, you can restore your phone back.

There's no way to disable on COS12. Wait until they release update to COS12.1.

Your instructions to long press/press the bell icon basically tells him to prevent notifications showing the same text from ever showing up again, nothing to do with heads up.
