Wow.. this mean if you have CIMB MY account. die die need to install the CIMB OCTO MY app now..
I did it with the help of the staff at their Southkey branch. I was there to replace my debit card, and they asked if I wanted to do it as they'd help me.

There were services I didn't start using until this OCTO app.

No, I don't know CIMB SG to CIMB MY fees. But from what I know, generally the exchange rates of banks are not as good as youtrip/wise etc. So I just thought if there's a fee, then it may come up similar to youtrip/wise transfer. As you've shown, the transfer is definitely less than 1% compared with topup using card. I have checked with youtrip and transfer of SGD1000 is fee of SGD3.26 ... you can do the maths
For reference, YouTrip vs CIMB as of 10 minutes ago.

Anybody has CIMB MY account?
I received this email asking me to complete a form for e-invoicing.

But the form does not allow me to submit without a Malaysia TIN

I sent them a message through the Mailbox in CIMB Clicks Internet Banking.

I don't work in Malaysia, so there is no solution?

Believe I received such an email, at least I recall it's something to do with eInvoicing. I just "file" it away somewhere since my impression it's something commercial.

Anyway, now that I look at the above, I see "non-Malaysians will also be assigned with a TIN if they are registered taxpayers with IRBM."

I'm not, so... :look:

Question is do you really need the eInvoice? I dont think I need it haha.
Same thoughts here.

This eInvoice thingy is for payments made from the CIMB account?

If so, I've so far only paid for 2 things - foodcourt purchase only because they tend to display the non-TnG QR code up front, the other one hidden. Another one is a small shop, helping a friend pay for his RM12 pants. They only had a DuitNow QR code, so I paid from the bank account.

Don't think I need the eInvoices for such kacang puteh... :s34:

There will be no changes to your normal banking product statements. e-Invoice is a new additional document sent to you, and include only certain transactions (e.g., your existing fees, charges, interest, etc) that CIMB is required to report to IRBM. Each e-Invoice contains a reference number assigned by IRBM, representing a unique identification of the e-Invoice in the form of a QR code and indicating that the document has been validated by IRBM.

Based on what I read only IF you are a tax payer in Malaysia regardless citizen or foreginer (which mean you are working there where there is an TAX ID) which is similiar to our work pass FIN number.

As of all the above, I dont think there's a need and we can ignore for now unless they mention that we need to submit if not having account closure.

I think malaysia is trying to standardise malaysia taxation as many of the people now is evading tax and trying to keep it digitalise to ensure people pay their taxes.

Hi Jasonsouza77
Cimb SG branch at raffles
You can try to call the hotline first, to see is this service still available or do a walk in with yr NRIC + Passport.

Cimb branch in JB
You can bring the below docs and a minimum amt (which I had forgotten) to open the a/c
1) NRIC
2) Passport
3) Driver license or Credit card
Pls bring the hard copies for them to photocopy or scan. The bank do not entertain our digital copies.

Pls also check within this forum for the previous posts on the application process. Thanks!
