OpenNet to finish 98% residential installations within 3 days
my installation is at september leh.. any ways to bring it forward and make it earlier?![]()
My house is currently under renovation, the electrician had pre installed cat 6 cable in the false ceiling and provided a electrical socket in the shoe cabinet. When Opennet is ready to be installed in my unit, is this the ideal setup with the termination point by Opennet in the shoe cabinet?
And when I applied for fibre with Singtel/Starhub i need to put the optical network point in the shoe cabinet and link this via a cat 6 cable to the fibre gateway box at the tv console area.

There is an ONT (Opitical Network Terminal) to be supplied by RSP between the TP and your RG (modem/router). See pic here>>Picture 26 « Photo Gallery | OpenNet.Hi guys i need some help ~~ Sorry for the noobish questions ~
Currently i am using starhub broadband with the modem and router placed in my study room connected to the starhub point. The rest of the room is connected via homeplug for connection.
My questions:
1.
If i install Openet TP in my utility room (Within 15ms), must i place my modem and router in my utility room and will i enjoy fiber optics connection using homeplug for the rest of the rooms ?
2.
If i install the TP in my study room ( more then 15m & the ugly cabling), i just connect my modem to the opennet TP and start using the fiber connection from there?

I suggest you explore the OpenNet website for a better understanding of the wiring and the best option for you.
As the optical fiber patch cord is now easily available (even custom length), you have a lot of flexibility in your configuration. But don't count on the RSP to provide you free long fiber cable.
It's the same ethernet cable. You can use your present one to connect the modem to the homeplug at the utility room. Homeplug follows the modem. Thanks Mrsun18 for your helpful reply. I am thinking to place my TP and modem in my utility closet and do the connection via homeplug method. Most likely i am going for the 100 mbps plan just wondering if i need any special cable for my homeplug ?
Opennet installation point fixed on 13th Aug.
Do i make appointment to sign up with fibre isp provider 2 weeks before the 3 weeks over?
