just had my fibre point installed by opennet. waiting time is 2 weeks, took the 9am to 11am slot, 2 indian opennet staff came down at 9:20am.

The point was done in my room within 30mins, 8m/15m used with existing trunking, tested and show me the signal strength. Overall it was a fast installation.

1310nm 0.59
1490nm 0.36
1550nm 0.21

this is frustrating...

I have been put on hold on their telephone line for the past 1hour

normally i got thru their line within 5 min if not i'll call again later. sometimes they will call me back when they need to do some asking internally or search for the info. my recent experience with them quite ok....especially with the recent upgrade.

Finally on fibre after my republic installed yesterday. Ont is in the living room so I had to use homeplugs to connect the whole house. Overall I got no complaints with opennet and my republic.

I was trying to call them because they sent me an SMS to tell me they are cancelling my appointment for installation of TP on Monday (ie later today)... very last minute and very frustrating considering I took leave for it!

I still haven't managed to get thru even though I called back later again at 5pm... on hold for 15mins and I gave up

well, i registered/book my appointment online when i received the mailer. got a screenshot of my confirmed appointment on a Sat. It stated that they will call after 5 working days. but never call.

I decided to call them, put on hold for 1hr then auto cut off. sibeh sian.... drop them email via their website stating the above with my screenshot. Finally, got a call from them yesterday, 27th Sep telling me that they did not capture my booking in their system. say call to confirm my date for appointment again. My original Sat appointment is gone and no more available. Make noise to them and they say they have computer glitch and all booking is gone, so yesterday they start to call everyone, one by one to remake booking.

TMD, so coincident one, send email they call then this thing happen. This company can't even maintain their system, how to trust them to the roll out of fibre connection throughout Singapore.

Yah lor, got IDA feedback channel or not? Must "Feedback" all this. what is the use for us to book online when this thing happen. Somemore, their hotline can call through one meh? call so many times, always on hold. 1hr is the longest i waited and it got auto cut off.....

Got my installation done today despite some confusion with Opennet a few days ago.

Background:
I had made my booking through the phone about one month ago. Appt was confirmed for today. Last Thursday, I get a call saying my appt had to be cancelled due to a technical glitch in their system and that I had no choice of another Saturday. Only Mon-Fri. I asked for someone in authority to speak to. Was told someone would call me back. No one did.

Installation:
This morning, someone rang my doorbell at 9am. It was the Opennet installers. Since they were here, I went ahead with the installation. Installed the TP in my study room.

Opennet technician showed me that there was a signal coming through by plugging out the green cap at the TP after installation (there was a red light shining onto his hand). Capped it back, took some photos, I signed some papers and they left.

Total installation time was about 1.5 hours. Quite a good job with the trunking I should say.

Signal:
1310nm - 0.80
1490nm - 0.60
1550nm - 0.55

Do the signal readings look ok?
